It's very hard to point out what makes him have a strong "matchplay" without seeing him play said match (-es).

And even if his technique is not very beautiful it seems serviceable. I remember strong top 50 players in the world with relatively bad looking technique but that was still functional (Damien Eloy, Crisan, Keinath etc.).

It is about the ability of creating spin and to be consistent, not about the aestethics of it. (This said, the best players in the world pretty much always also had a nice aestethic, which usually makes the movement more fluid and consistent).
One last point: I think a more fluid and "correct" technique also increases your personal "roof-level". But it doesn't have to look the same for everyone.
I am being silly for reasons tied to earlier posts on the thread. Ignore me.

Thats part of the reason I posted it. So that technical experts like yourself can comment on what separates people like him with "a weird technique" but strong matchplay.
Not sure if I am a technical expert but I do my best 😅.
My coach said you can get far with an awkward technique but never as far someone with the same "skill" but better technique. At some point "bad technique limits you.
He has good exceleration in his elbow, he uses that so he can over come is lack of hip and shoulder movement. If he has a good touch with it he can generate good spin. Quick movment at the table is hard to play against. And good tabeltennis knowledge/ feeling for the game helps.

Here is a match between him and Oliver Czeka (who is the channel owner) from not too long ago. He does a lot reviews, tutorials and other videos and is also a B Level coach. Oliver was almost 1900 TTR and Arya 1840 TTR at the time.

Time ago told to a team mate that don't liked the Zyre-03 (he's using H3 National 40º and D09C both boosted with Haifu National Yellow) to boost with two thin layers of Falco Tempo Long Booster the Zyre-03 because I suspected the no dwell time is for the hard rubber no top sheet related problem, yesterday tried and as the rubber has more dwell time as imagined but to my surprise no one ball goes out off the table, about speed isn't more speed on the opposite feel more control, of course doesn't plays like a H3 pro/nat BS boosted for short services but still good for half long or long services, I'm really impressed how changed the rubber.

Amy Wang signed with Butterfly and is now using FZD ZLC with Zyre-03 both sides.

Z03 for stay close to table?

Maybe Amy need to wait for Z25? Then she will dominate the WTT series!

I play close to the table...
You are not following the script; BTY says Z03 is for mid distance looping. Your warranty is now void.

Where did it say this? Are you of one those guys who confuses "rallying" with "mid-distance looping"?

if there is a direct trajectory to be found, zyre will find it

cant give all the credit to the rubber, but im seeing quite a nice range of spin/speed from it as the opponent, allowing for some surprisingly spinny and angled shots. good news is when i do a good job of blocking these shots they go the other way with a lot of zip as well

Yes, thats crazy
I have a friend (peak rating 2250, curr 2100) who uses it on the forehand of a Primorac Carbon. won his most recent U2100 tournament with it, Softer outer make Zyre feel really good. Just saying.

I owned a Primorac Carbon when speed glue time, I remember not good for Sriver-L with speed glue NO CONTROL.

Now Primorac Carbon with this weird big ball could made sense at least worth to try.
