Can you restore grip on oxidised rubbers?

I'd have to say this is a No.

Natural rubber can be rehydrated by heating it and rubbing it with glycerine. It's an old trick for restoring old rubber seals, gaskets and the likes.
I don't know of anyone who has tried it with TT rubbers and I cant imagine it would work...

This takes me back roughly 65 years . I remember a car mechanic rubbing glycerine on to the side of car tires when they looked a bit bridle. Made them look all shiny black and new (ish).
BTW. did not someone on the forum once suggested olive oil ??? Also oil of wintergreen ?
I think I once had some success with WD40. And come to think of it, again, in a previous life, when i was racing slot cars, we used to do use WD40 on the tires there to make them softer and stickier.
But the bottom line here really is:
