Yeah, the Karis rubbers are still very usable. I let a few others try my racket, and they were all impressed with the rubbers. Got a few of the folks keen on buying Karis as their next rubbers - including two Hurricane users (only downside was price - "$50?! More expensive than other ESNs!").

I'm definitely a fan. What's impressive is that I didn't need much adjustment, coming from classic rubbers (Srivers). In fact, they feel like my Srivers when I freshly glue them with lots of rubber cement (so some "glue" effect). The upgrade was worth it - as my spin and speed output increased tremendously, and noticed by my coach/friend.

Haha, I remember way more than those four items - we also covered providing extra power to the FH loop by jerking my left shoulder back, and a lot of other cool stuff too. Just didn't want to have others read a novel here. Regarding off-bounce pushes, been doing that a lot more - creates a lot of mistakes when I misread spin/timing, but my friend agrees it's critical as my level increases.

Anyhow, I really appreciate you taking your time to work on this developing player. Definitely looking forward to seeing your other BH shots! Ping me whenever you're headed to Swan next. :)

Haha super.

Dont worry about writing novels or technical manuals... That is what we do here. It is good to repeat and write.

I gained a LOT of those coaching things from the forums. Also learned a lot from gisting Kim Jung Hoon vids.

There is a ton of useful nuggets in those vids... Do some searching. I did six or so of those. KJH is absolute boss of spotting basic errors and gets right to the root. Communicates with amatures well.

As for the Karis rubbers, I believe they are 100% worth it. I get more usefull life out of them.

I sell them discounted in person and maybe we can get monster (who plays at Swan) to apply a goon squad discount for Swan/San Jose area.

I am kind of jealous. I love espresso. And although Der_Echte boasted about his baking skillz, to me it looks like that would make some mean espresso.

Carl,

You bet vs me in this matter and you are out of a hundred thousand lunch tabs. I can bake breads anything you can imagine and bake them with very natural processes that eat up almost all the evil gluten... I am ten times the baker than I am a Barista.

The problem with bread making is it should take a VERY LONG time to make. Simple concepts to make the dough, prof, shape, rise and bake, takes 24 hrs to do it right.

We all want instant gratification... making cappuccinos is about as good as it gets in that respect. 1.5 minutes per cappuccino is all it takes to do it right. That is start to finish and beginning the next one. The super automated equipment can cut off 1/3 of that but why rush the enjoyment of an art? The taste of the Crema, the Espresso shot, the cream, the sugar, the music, the atmosphere, the body of the lady next to you... those are things to appreciate by anyone.

Anyone knowing me for any period of time would never accuse me of possessing talents of an artist, but the talents of an Artisan are achievable by anyone wanting to learn.

Don't ever doubt my ability to bake, I can do a million things with an oven from baking treats to lifting the entire unit out and hurling it across the Hudson in a rage that would make the Incredible Hulk jealous with envy. Your mom could appreciate what I would do with an oven, it was expected in her day at our age and younger. Heck, if all I had was a cast iron skillet I could make buttermilk biscuits that would shame and put KFC and Popeyes out of business in under 20 minutes... Heck, I could make a ham/bacon/potato/veggie/cheese/egg baking job in that skillet that would make a Viking the most indomitable fealess well nutriated fighting force in the world.

Having said that Carl, I have to fly back to the East Coast in July to close out my contract on our townhouse rental and move the place. I have to swing by Boston for business (and hopefully a TT adventure)... who sez I couldn't swing by and stop by NYC on my way to DC ??? Heck, we could make a special TT camp and after that, invade your mom's place with Ur daughter and make such things in skillets. If we are short of time, we could do sausage/veggies/rice/salads. All that stuff is wholesome and takes very little prep and cook time.

What sez U man ???

Any TTD members, lurkers or other assorted trouble makers can make their way to Swan Ping Pong Club Santa Clara, CA around 1 PM Sunday for LULZ.

ttmonster will try to assemble a private Goon Squad, but their are always enough players at Swan to form several Goon Squads.

Let's have a ball.

I will be easy prey, I just finished EIGHT straight hours of TT in my local club after a 3 week layoff. Gunna get real, real soon.

Trouble making mission number 7 is in the books. Roll call was so ate up, I tossed the paper in the trash after one look, today must have been a real busy day for stuff other than TT, so I caused as much trouble with ttmoster as possible.

I spent the first 30 minutes removing water glue from his ALC blade, the strong old water glue messed his blade up, shredded one side. Got a tiny blaster. Slapped on my old used/new Karis H on his FH, and a new sheet of Karis M on BH. I tried to sell the 3 session old Karis H for the going rate of 10 USD, but ttmonster wasn't having any of that.

We played a lot of doubles and some singles, and had some practice. We performed well in a loss vs a much better team. Had a lot of fun for 5 hours.

Took ttmonster to Walmart so he could get an industrial sized bottle of oil so he could see what this tuning thing is all about. I said it is too much trouble to go through all that noise, but ttmonster really wanted to experience it for at least one shot. I saw a tubless tire repair kit (while we were checking to see if they sold ole tire glue... recommended he buy the tire repair kit for hs car trunk...

IRONICALLY, 6 seconds after I got on the road from Walmart, my tire pressure light comes on and Audi alarm screams warning. Sheize. I got to ttmonster's place and had him use my flashlight to look at rear tire while I backed up slowly. He found where I ran over a screw, we fixed it in 10 minutes easy, including using a bicycle pump to add air.

I had a longish short drive and got back parked on street right at midnight on the button before my Audi turned into a pumpkin pulled by mice.

What can I say, the life of a TTEr. Thx Monster & Swan.

This is the exact description of what happened , but other than learning a few new and neat tricks in table tennis which Der is always ready to share , I got to learn how to identify a leak , fix a tire and pump it up with a bicycle pump ... and we closed of the rather eventful day with a toast to good times and good health with a glass of Rombauer Zinfandel 2014 and some double toasted cheesesticks from whole foods !! ... oh and I did suprise william with a few shots I could extract from Karis H on my first hit.

So its official now, my stock paddle has Karis M on BH and Karis H on forehand ... will write about my experience in detail in some time ... looking forward to understanding my backhand more :)

You want to find a way to make ttmonster play doubles better ??? ... Piss him smooth off, he will go on a looping rampage for at least 5 straight points. :D Kinda like a video game where "Power of Zorb" is ACTIVATED for two minutes.

Der_Echte , thats funny , but normally if I get the weekend off from table tennis , I can play like that on Mondays and Tuesdays , if I keep playing like I do everyday , by the time it reaches weekend it becomes the power of Zorb thing ...
