So the news was real. Sadly Macau is not a member of the IOC due to the incompetence of the former Portuguese government, so ZYL will only be able to play ITTF events, ATTU events, continental/regional games and WTT events.

even if Macau was part of the IOC, Zhu will not be able to play oympics, i'm sure you are aware of that.....

Liu Weishan (CHN) beat Annett Kaufmann (GER) 3-2 in the qualifying round 1 so there will be no potential Annett vs. Miwa rematch.

Kaufmann just couldn't figure out Liu's tomahawk/reverse tomahawk serve combo at all. Felt like Liu had like 80% ace rate on her serve in the first 2 games.

ok, I checked with my mate in WTT

it is scaling issue - check if your browsing is set at 100%

anything over or under makes it off (30% was really funny), Extra Ma Wide (felt like a Yasaka blade)

CNT

• WYD + SYS
• WYD + LGY (is China taking this event seriously? realistically neither of them have a good shot at LA 2028)
• LGY + LSD also for MD
• QTY + CXT (another strange pairing, I would have paired QTY with SYS if they're seriously considering the former for being a leftie)

JNT

• Togami + Shinozuka (Why no Sora Matsushima?)
• Sora + Miwa for XD, only one entry for JNT again?
• Nagasaki + Kim Nayeong pairing continues, on Kinoshita's dime? Why not Hirano or even Ito when they're both available lol
• Miwa + Kihara only serious WD JNT pairing here, hope they make it far

GNT:

• Sabine Winter + Annett Kaufmann (Kaufmann, Nina, Winter for LA2028?)

Lots of international / inter association pairings here, I guess most main team players are tired from Olympic season but as usual China seems to be taking things the most seriously. In WS they're occupying the top 4 seeds + last 4 main draw places + another 8 in qualifiers according to my count so we'll likely get an even bigger bloodbath than usual.
