I mean a welcome ceremony and dinner with the main draw players is fine if it’s near the hotel and training place but not sure about having all the main draw players having to walk up a hill. Are they trying to make the players tired before their matches.

I hear you. If it was a lesser TT country you could chalk it up to ignorance. It was probably something the organizing committee fif that the players had no say in. But the things that are more cremonious for these kinds of events will always be a side-quest. The players have more than enough time between the draws and the matches.
