He's 17, french, has never achieved anything yet, and yet you want to qualify him as a choker ?
I don't think zeio imposes an age minimum. A few years back he mocked Sora Matsushima's height before he had his growth spurt. Can't remember if it was MyTT or TTD, but also years back he had some let's say less than flattering comments about Sora's little sister, Miku, who is now 12.

Forget the age, the statement could never be made by someone who plays competitively and watched the match. To claim the kid choked after watching those points is ridiculous but I guess someone always says something brilliant on the internet.

well, the MS quarterfinals tomorrow will be a battle of world vs china, all matches are between a chinese player and a player from another country. I believe that the semifinals will be Calderano vs Wang Chuqin and Felix vs Lin Shidong.

This is the most likely outcome but I think CJS will give Felix a hard time

Wasn't he faulted first? then challenged it so the point won't go to WCQ.
The refs are really quick to call serve faults now.
Did you see the challenge Karlsson did againt LSD? I initially thought he was using TTR to challenge his serve that went out of bounds. Turns out he was faulted in the middle of his serve.
Oh I see. I didn't understand what happened
Didn't watch Karlsson

if you think that calling out skirting the rules constitutes prejudice, i suggest you pick up a dictionary sometime. i mention the country because china has a track record of this behaviour.

also, its pretty ironic how much you go on about (your view of) appropriate behaviour but cant make that point in a civil way instead of the self important manner in which you chose lol.
Let's be clear here, using stalling tactics is not a "Chinese" thing. I am now 95% sure you are PoppaChubby/OldUser with a new handle, but in any case if I am wrong, you do you. On an international forum though, it is not the place to air all your prejudices about a player's behavior reprrsenting China as opposed to discussing real issues. The Chinese are well represented at the top of this sport.

Has anyone notice that the one umpire guy keep calling faults all the time during serve. He has called more faults than the other umpires combined this tournament.

With Hina and WMY match Hina got a yellow card. I’m not sure whether it was time wasting or serve. If it was time wasting it seem quite quick as soon Hina was ready to toss the ball up umpire gives her a yellow card.

I dont brush off anything, please stop confusing my mindset with yours. I let the players play and decide. After all, I didn't spend years claiming Matsushima was useless only to now have to start turning around when his results show enough of an uptick that it is hard to deny he has a chance for LA 2028.

Ultimately, Togami and Ueda have time. Togami is the one who needs to see that no good player is doing what he is doing, even Hugo ans Wang who are probably the closest.
What is so special in what Togami is doing though? Bang Bang Power TT? That's bread and butter among the top players tbh. Plus little subtleties here and there.

Someone who was a main member of the CNT and a top-10 to top-5 player for the better part of a decade is "not great"? That's a high bar lol.

Existing at the same time as ML FZD and ZJK and having a few notable massive chokes and mental game issues definitely prevented him from being an all-time great, but, still a lot of room for greatness below that.
The list of players Lin had notable "chokes" against that I remember: Timo Boll, Ma Long, Xu Xin, Harimoto and maybe Mizutani (and some other near misses against Mizutani, Dima etc).

Which of those players was clearly worse than he was? Anyone who thinks lost leads is by definition choking just doesn't play enough table tennis, if you have played enough matches, especially with leads (lucky or handicap) against better players, you will have choked enough to know it is nothing special.

I don't think you can get a yellow card for serve. It's either a warning or a fault.
I’m uncertain if it was time wasting as WTT Youtube livestream may not have shown the footage before it but it seem quite quick that Hina got a yellow card if it was for time wasting. I reckon it would have only been 10-15seconds when she got the yellow card.

Yeah, that's why everyone is doing it. More seriously, Togami's speed and power is not normal even amongst top players, it is elite. If you doubt this, speak to professionals about his game. Alamiyan who doesn't complain about playing Wang Chuqin or Liang Jingkun was annoyed at how high risk Togami's game was, told the ref he was hitting too many nets. The problem is not with what he is doing, the problem is that if you do something all the time, once your timing and your desire to execute is figured out, the top players usually find ways to defend you and use those tendencies against you. But anyone calling what Togami does bread and butter should ask why Harimoto has problems playing Togami.

In my experience, the readiness of the other player often feeds the impression of the umpire in the absence of objective measures like clocks.

Damn, the WS QFs have 8 CJKs (not just Asians or even East Asians which are too general here) and 7 of them are ethnic Chinese...all the while ignoring the rumor that SYB's great grandfather/grandfather is from Hebei... 🫠

The MS QFs have 4 CNT players, 2 JNT players, plus 1 BNT player and 1 FNT player. One CNT player short of what Tieba users expected.

Anyway, the concerted effort of CNT is not to be sneezed at.

JNT women's No. 2 standing that seemed set in stone is also starting to show nicks and dings here and there. There might be 2 JNT men making the QFs here but they are not the ones the WR would suggest, which makes the drafting of selection criteria for LA28 even more troublesome, as if the infighting is not causing enough headache...

Winter's plan also might not pan out even if LA28 were to take place now, and almost 3 years from now in reality?

WD R16
Winter/WY 0-3 Sawettabut/Paranang (-14, -10, -8)
The score might not reflect it, but the Thai pair took the German pair apart, coming from behind in all 3 games. Both Sawettabut and Paranang ate anti for breakfast...

It was no fluke that they beat IND and PRK at Asian Games 2022 (well-deserved bronze) and FRA at Paris 2024. They know how to handle pips/anti...

I don't know if math is racist, but Chinese math is sexist for sure.
i'm not sure if you or other people are feeling it, but zeio is on a mission to paint that chinese are the supreme human race.
didn't some dude did that few decades ago in Europe?

He's only 17, so he still has some time to properly challenge the 'title'.

Sigh, wasting my precious life on this crap again...

Once and for all, LGL noted LGY's mental lapse when he lost to ML after a fairly big lead at Marvellous 12 2017 and that it might have already emerged many times before but gone unnoticed all those years. He was several days from turning 22 (highly likely 24 in reality) at that point.

In case some of you aren't aware (not in the ITTF database), ZJK actually made a comeback win over Kishikawa after trailing 0-3 in the U21 MS final of Japan Open Kobe 2002. He was 14 at that point. The famous comeback win over Mizutani after trailing 0-3 at World Cup 2010 was his first-ever individual major tournament, and he was 22 then.

ZJK and Kishikawa on the podium

For Coton, 2 games in a row like that is not normal regardless of age. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

Don't count Uda out yet. I think he got a good boosting from Coach Qiu, and no one knows what Uda can do now. He could beat LYJ and Truls, then he at least has some chances against LSD.

Unfortunately, some in Europe are still in this crap 😒. Probably everywhere by the way, perfect equality in stupidity. The real proof that there is no supreme 'race'.
