I dun quite understand this individual ranking table.. Yan An and Shang Kun have played same number of match, and YA got more win but less point than Shang Kun? Likewise, Fan Zhendong got more win and less loss but still result in less point @@ Those are just few examples at first glance when I saw it. Im pretty sure if I scan more deeply there will be more illogic (in my opinion) here

Yeah, there is a coefficient for each player so a victory can bring back different points for 2 different players. Surely, it's quite unfair...
If someone know the coefficient for the players (men and/or women) and how they are calculated ?
Thanks

I have a question @Zjkfanforever. Now the top China players such as Ma Long, Xu Xin, Zhang Jike and Fan Zhendong are representing their teams in the China Super League, do they train each day with their teams or head back to the National Training Centre?

What does Liu Guoliang do now during this period? Does he rest or still work hard with his National team players?

CNT players are back at clubs for super league/jia a etc
CNT A players only gather back (together) for "closed" training or world tour preparations (not always)
They are not together all 12 months, to put it that way.

The closed training is around twice a year, around 80 days combined or 3 months
Super league is only 2 to 3 months.
And then international competition is around 3 months (or more)
And other training is the balance of the year.

What is LGL doing now
I actually don't know.

Let me add, CNT B team are together more than CNT A team, as A team as more matches, while B team focus more on development and training

That makes a lot of sense thanks :) So I guess during this period players can rest a little more and spend bit of time with friends etc. it would be great to get training hall videos from the province teams of the China Super League. In China are you allowed to watch province A teams practice?

I know your not allowed to enter and watch in National Team but province teams would be cool.

OK, I post here because it seems that there are some "experts" on the CNT :).
Anybody has some informations on the recent Xu Xin's coach change (why ? What are the technical differences ? Wu Jingping replaced Qin Zhijian).
I read somewhere that he was unhappy because Qin Zhijian focused more on Ma Long.
Thanks

Super League is actually not provincial A team.
Super league is more commerical clubs, while provincial teams members are squatted throughout many clubs in different divisions.
So in other words, you get provincial team and then super league team.
ie, the national games will be based on provincial team.

Provincial team training - this is more closed, but of course insiders can take video.
Some times you will find some videos on the internet.

Super league training - more like "warming up"/"keeping fit", some videos also circulate on the video.
Nowadays, its more the players sharing them, than the fans :p

If you go to the venue early, you can catch players training, but other than that, it is not free entry to watch most trainings - unlike some other team sports like football/soccer

It's coaching staff's decision, not Xu Xin's, for him to change coach. According to an article published in Table Tennis World, during closed training for Tokyo' WTTTC, the coaching staff also contemplated on the potential line-up for 2016 Rio Olympics, and decided that one elite coach will focus on one elite player only. Hence, Liu Guoliang asked Qin Zhijian, who is the coach for two elite players, i.e. Ma Long and Xu Xin, to give up one among the two. Qin decided to give up Xu Xin. As a result, Xu Xin was assigned to Wu Jingping, who is very experienced in training penholders.

Each coach has 2 main players and a few (2 to 4) "extra" players.
Wu Jingping, has had 2 top penholders under his wing for the past decade, until Ma Lin retired. Wang Hao is also coming to the end of his career too.
I don't think it is "unhappy", but a clever move so Wu Jingping can focus more on "the best penholder" in the world now.

As suggested by Tony's Table Tennis, national team players will train with their club teammates during super league season, but sometimes their respective national team coaches will go to the super league games to check on them, as it happened with Wu Jingping on Xu Xin, Qin Zhijian on Ma Long, and Xiao Zhan on Zhang Jike recently.

Xiao Zhan at Shandong Luneng Club's home court on July 1.
