A little more info would help us help you even more:
I have to be honest, this is really all the information I need to make an assessment founded on the needs of Basten4’s game.
I hate long pushing and backspin points, and I am working on not getting in trouble trying to reverse them too soon because of the aggressive nature of my playing style.
Basten, if it is possible for you to get into a backspin rally without your consent, and trying to open off any backspin that comes to you can get you in trouble, then you are probably better off with exactly what thomas.pong recommended:
Butterfly Petr Korbel
Or
Tibhar Stratus Power Wood
Or
Nittaku Acoustic
Or
OSP Virtuoso Plus
With any number of decent offensive rubbers like:
T05
MXP
ELP
FXP
Aurus Prime
Omega VII
Rasanter
The list goes on.
You could get away with a blade like:
InnerForce AL, ZLF or ALC.
But the Korbel, SPW, Acoustic or V+ would still help you develop and improve more than the composite blades I just listed.
There are players at the top pro levels who still use the Korbel blade. So, I am confident that it is good enough to take you to a very high level.
And a blade like that will help you make it so any time someone pushes to you, you will be able to loop. And if you choose to push, it will be your choice. Not a choice that is forced on you.
The 5 ply, all wood construction of the blades I listed will help you develop your technique, increase the spin on your loops and become skilled at looping, even the heaviest backspin balls.
You can develop that with carbon. It just will take a decent amount longer.
