So one last time, I will be doing a blade giveaway. This will hearken back to old times, though this time, as a fix to what happened in previous times, the blades will all be quality blades. No exceptions. Unless you want to a lower quality blade... I definitely could sell them and probably should... I considered donating as well and if you win a blade and decide to donate it to any cause, that is fine. I will probably donate others.

So the desired parameters are to post a video of yourself doing two of the tricks in the old Marcos Freitas skills video. Any of them will qualify. The video must be at least 1 minute long with whatever skills you choose.

The prize blades - 2 Xiom HAL blades , 2 Andro Wosik Legacy blades, and 2 Joola Trinity Vyzaryz blades, all used or almost new but in quite playable condition and worth something reasonable. As the dictator mod, I judge the entries. I will cover postage. When you post your video of your skill and I say it qualifies, just let me know which blade you want. First 6 videos get the blades. The end date for this is August 31, 2026.

Yes. The contest is time bound so you jave two weeks to figure it out and demonstrate two of the skills. But each person can only win one blade lol.

Travelled to Houston for the African TT Diaspora event for which I was an organizer as well as a participant. Didn't do as well as I would have liked but I lost to good players who made good shots. Have to work on a lot of stuff for sure. But I will target the Teams tournament in Baltimore as when I Want to peak and focus on the personal stuff in my life around that.

I'm on my first working day after being on vacation, club is closed for the summer. I can do one (probably) and will probably fumble any of the other options but that's OK.
Might put other tricks in to compensate for my lack of skill

When you say a minute, do you mean I have to do the trick for an entire minute, like bouncing the ball off the edge of the table for a minute straight? That's pretty hard lol.

Bouncing the ball on the table is pretty easy when you get the right feeling. You will surprise yourself. It is more of an equilibrium thing than anything else. The ball catching skills are definitely hard IMHO. But many people can do them.

The video itself has to be at least a minute, 30 seconds of each skill is fine, longer is also good, but I just want it to be substantial, just not like 5 second clips of nothing with no visibility into the actor etc. Some of the older entries into similar competitions had a minimum number of hits etc, I am leaving that a bit open to my judgment since I can judge when I see something that gets it right or not (so I might post a sample video to show what I want).

Yes, but you ultimately turned out to be 2200+ in disguise/waiting. So it all made sense lol...

PS: I think it was two ESN rubbers, not Tenergies, maybe a Hexer and something else, but maybe one of them might have been a Tenergy but I doubt it, I wasn't really into Butterfly that decade lol, I was much more ESN.

But yes, this is the first competition in a while.

The pancake is one of the skills in the video, if anyone wants recommendations, the first skill bouncing the ball against the side and the pancake with spin are the ones I recommend (I learned those pretty easily). Those you can do about 30+ bounces with some practice within a week a or two for sure, usually a few days.

So please hurry up and get the blades lol...

That's much broader than it had better pass my approval - it can be impressive and still not pass my approval. In this contest, I am a dictator and absolute judge, not a republican, democrat, prime minister or objectivist. So you have to hope the trick catches me in the right mood if it is not in the Freitas video. I am trying to encourage things that are skills not just spectacular tricks that are the result of 20 million attempts and video editing...

How's the TT scene in Sweden? I'm part Swedish but have never visited. It's a dream of mine to go there. Would be so easy from England but from where I am now it's so far and expensive. If I ever go there should I take a bat? Are clubs open and friendly to outsiders?

Oh man, it's quite a big question for me as I have a lot to compare to. I mostly started playing in England (I'm half English), where I lived for 6 years and it was a bit of shock to come back to TT in Sweden. But it obviously depends on the city. I started in a tiny town in England, then moved to a bigger city where the TT was much better, then I went back to Sweden where it was TT heaven for sure.

It's even bigger the last few years because of Truls, clubs are getting overcrowded. I live in Malmö and Truls often practices in my old clubs venue so I suppose it's particularly popular here. I've played in several clubs and cities and the experience does vary. But in the bigger cities there's every kind of level. Definitely bring a bat if you're visiting. Most people are friendly, though you do run into some cliques. Malmö, Lund, Stockholm is especially used to having international players come visit, in my experience.
