Darker Speed 90 together with Nittaku Hurricane Pro 3 turbo Orange 1.6mm

Will it work?
I am thinking to fire my Darker speed 90 up with rubbers.
A too soft and thick rubber will deteriorate the good feeling?
A thinner rubber will give You more blade feel...
Hurricane Pro 3 Orange comes from 1.6mm at TT11 !!!

Hurricane Pro 3 Orange is very heavy so the extra thin sponge will be close to the normal weight (I think).

Will a 1.6mm thickness work for this purpose?

Hey!! Did you try this out? I love the sound of it. I always stayed away from anything thicker than 2.1mm if I could playing on my hinoki 1-ply blades. Accentuating the amazinggg feeling of the hinoki by using a thinner sponge just sounds sooo good.

Not yet, my season was destroyed by a tennis elbow. I am now pretty much recovered, am now concentrating to get back to form. This little project is on the backburner.

One of my setups is with Masamune 3ply hinoki and VS>401 1.5mm on BH. The combination works well, I can feel the blade and keep the speed manageable. Tried Donic Slice CS at 1.5mm but don't like the tendency of increased throw angle at harder hits.

it was most likely a "Cypress."

Anyway, when DS-90 mate with NHP3 Orange 1.6mm, it bounced like a bunny,
speed like a Shinkansen train.
When DS-90 mate with Tenergy 05 1.7mm, it was a lot more controllable,
but lost most of the super power, even less speed than a super ALC.

That is super interesting. T05 2.1 is SO bouncy for me on DS-90. I've never tried anything less than 2.1 though which is wwhy I was so interested in this thread.
AK47 blue and red are supposed to get great blade effect on 1-ply hinoki, but that wasn't the case for me.
Skyline TG3 39, H3 bs 39, H9 violet 37, H3 os 37, PowerplayXb 38, and Nexxus EL Pro 43 have all been super good. But all are 2.1 or thicker... I really want to try a thinner sponge setup on the DS-90 for like the best feel, but Idk if it would...
