Deutsche Tischtennis-Meisterschaft 2026 (German National Table Tennis Championships) - was the annual national championship of Germany, held for the 94th time in 2026. The event was organized under the auspices of the Deutscher Tischtennis-Bund (German Table Tennis Association, DTTB).
From 4 to 7 June 2026, the Erfurt Exhibition Centre became the heart of German table tennis. The championships were held over four days (4–7 June 2026) in Erfurt, Germany. More than 1,000 participants competed in three competition halls for prestigious national titles. For the second consecutive time, more than 500 adult players took part in the German Championships in the Multi-Event format, which made its debut in 2024.
Unlike traditional national championships, the event went beyond elite competition and featured:
- German National Championships for men and women;
- Youth Championships (U15 and U19);
- 500 veteran players;
- Top players from local, district and regional levels.
Medals were awarded in men's and women's singles and doubles events, as well as in mixed doubles.
Selection and Participation Criteria:
Participation in the final stage is ensured through the following methods:
Main Criteria:
- Positions in the German DTTB ranking — players with the highest rankings at the time of registration closure.
- Regional quotas — top players based on the results of qualifying rounds in federal states (Landesverbände).
- Wildcards — up to 4 spots may be granted to young talents or returning players.
- Youth category champions (U19) — may automatically qualify for participation.
Additional Requirements:
- The participant must hold German citizenship or have official permission to represent Germany in international competitions.
- All players must have a valid DTTB license.
- A medical certificate (permission to participate) is mandatory.
The competition is held in five main events:
- Men’s singles
- Women’s singles
- Men’s doubles
- Women’s doubles
- Mixed doubles
Playing System
Depending on the stage of the tournament, matches are played up to 4 games won (second stage of singles) or up to 3 games won (group stage in singles and all doubles events).
Seeding is based on the current national DTTB ranking.
Singles Events
The singles tournament includes 32 men and 32 women.
The singles event is organized in two stages.
In the first stage, seeds 9–32 participate, while the top 8 seeds advance directly to the second stage.
Participants in both men’s and women’s events are divided into 8 groups of 3 players, and only the group winners advance to the second stage.
The second stage uses a single-elimination (knockout) system.
Doubles Events
There are 16 pairs in each of the doubles events.
Mixed and doubles events start directly from the main draw and use a single-elimination (knockout) system.
