Yep, I would not say worse per se, more like just more controlled haha but i understand where the worse comes from, less speed, bit less speed, and more difficult to activate overall. I do enjoy the lower throw on it and the price :) D09c is a great rubber anyways!
Yeah to me it just feels like 09c is both faster and spinnier especially for BH. Even the control is pretty similar to me with both rubbers, and the throw of 8-80 is ok but there’s something special about that 09c throw angle

8-80 is good but the sponge bottoms out way too easily - and the shot quality tops out easily too. And it is quite spin sensitive to boot so literally it is the worst of all worlds.

Even H3 37 is way better than this.

So are you saying that the H8 hard is better at blocking, pushing and lifting backspin?

Yeah I totally understand your feeling, and indeed, the throw of 09c is like very few others :) The crack you get when you hit perfect is addictive haha

how does the 8-80 compare to Hurricane 8 hard.
With regard to blocking, pushing and lifting backspin?
VERY differently haha H8 is much lower throwing and the hard version is considerably more difficult to activate. I think that the best way to explain it is that Wang Chuqin used H8 hard for a while on his BH and we the mortals should stick to H8-80 ;)

If you are a high regional player or a national player then indeed it is too soft, but most amateurs will not have an easy time to bottom it out :)

For advanced players I'd much rather recommend D09c!

Yes this is a perfectly valid opinion, I see you play with a FZD ALC and Tenergy 19 + D80, so the 8-80 is going to feel like a fiat panda for you hahaha H8 has an even lower throw, so maybe that's why you disliked it so much, I personally don't like the H8 either, I find the H3N well boosted much better.

And indeed, flat hitting is not good with most of the hurricane rubbers, the rubber slows down a lot with the tackiness and has a flat-ish trajectory so it's not a rubber made for that :D

What were the pro guys playing with @Angerer ? )
Sorry, not gonna post names, but the pro was a former Olympian, semi-pro was the top club guy.
I totally get why people play H3N, a beast of a rubber when engaged properly. But H8 and H8-80 feel like worse versions of what Yinhe can offer with their 10$ rubbers. Jupiter 2/3, Big Dipper 1 and Moon do better for less. Maybe I should've tried commercial/national H8 and H8 80, my experience is solely based on commercial versions.

Yeah you guys are too good for the 8-80 so I can understand that, you probably flatten it like gorgonzola on a wooden plank ;) For you D09c will be much better! What do you or them use on BH? just curious

Sounds like a rubber with the springiness of regular Glayzer and tackiness of Glayzer 09c
Having used both I can comfortably say 8-80 has nowhere near the springiness of Glayzer, and Glayzer is not especially springy. It feels more like a Rakza with tacky topsheet. A Rakza Z Soft, if you will.

The pro uses Viscaria with two boosted D05s, the semi-pro uses WCQ 968 with boosted D09C on FH and regular T19 on BH.

I tried H8-80 once and I really liked it, it needs a fast blade
Yes correct :)

And indeed, this is how I would also describe the comparison roughly too.

Question: is Hurricane 9 with the 80 sponge (green for example) pretty much a fancy colored H8-80?

Question: is Hurricane 9 with the 80 sponge (green for example) pretty much a fancy colored H8-80?
No not really, it shares the same philosophy as the 8-80 in that they are both hybrids, but from the one time I tested (it was the green coincidentally) it is softer and easier to activate, it felt DHS had tried to achieve 2 things:
- one was making colours because yeah, they are all making colours and people like colours, specially pink xD They made the blue for FH guys and the pink for FH girls, and the other 2 for BH
- the other thing was to make a real hybrid, more hybrid than 8-80, like the next gen hybrid so to say, that does not require boosting, so they tried to make an easier to use H8/H3N. I didn't like the green much to be honest, I dont know why, the feeling was not as good as the 8-80, but you can try yourself and tell me, maybe you love it! I will buy the colours one day and make a proper in depth review as I feel my knowledge on the matter is way too limited for me to give a real opinion, but until then, this is all I know :D
