I ordered a Rxton 9, gonna see if matches H3 in function. If so I might switch to Loki to see if QC is better. It's comparable in price to H3N provincial, so pretty expensive for a Chinese rubber. I've got high hopes for it.
I didn't play with it much, but I tried Rxton 9 40.5 and it didn't give me the grabbing/catching feel like H3. It's tackiness is much less, and was quite bouncy (no boosting). I should try it again, but I didn't like it from that short test. People say it's like an easier H3 with less speed, but I had the opposite feeling lol!

I tried the Rxton 9 Pro, initial testing was terrible. It feels like a 2.2mm H3 that's been boosted too many times but is now months off boost. Basically it felt really thick and dense yet mushy, almost impossible to hit through, and is really slow. I'll try it again, but I think the Chinese sites' review is correct in that it's much more difficult to use than the regular Rxton 9.

I have a non-pro Rxton 9 40.5 coming as well, but I'll most likely just stick to the H3. Your assessment of it seems to be very similar as those from Chinese review sites. They say it doesn't feel like the grab and release of H3BS, a bit more like H3OS, but is easier to hit into than H3. That actually sounds rather similar to the LAC which feels like an easier to use version of the H3OS.

No! You should've peeled that off if you wanted to prove it. I thought that's why you posted that picture to begin with?

If I boost a brand new rubber, I always keep the film on, only removing it when I'm about to glue
And to be honest, I think doing it this way helps protect the rubber surface against oxidization and allows the stretching of the top sheet, kind of like the best of both worlds. You can tell how much the top sheet stretched if you put the protecting film back on.

Wait, but it's what the OP argued, by leaving the film on, the topsheet becomes more resistant to stretching...

In my opinion, as long as you removed the film once before gluing, the built-in tension would be released, and the surface would be protected during the boosting as well. I guess there could be a possibility that the surface wouldn't be as well stretched as boosting without the film, but I don't feel comfortable enough to do so. I personally think my way of boosting is more than good enough.

I guess there could be a possibility that the surface wouldn't be as well stretched as boosting without the film, but I don't feel comfortable enough to do so. I personally think my way of boosting is more than good enough.
No, his "hypothesis" is that during the boosting process, if the topsheet doesn't have its film on, then it would experience more stretching (potentially leading to formation of micro-tears), which would produce the result that he ended up with.

Releasing the tension before gluing could have less of that effect on the topsheet as the booster has likely already "slipped" through the sponge and "lubricated" the topsheet.

That doesn't sound very pleasant and I don't feel like dumping 50 usd to test this hypothesis, sorry

Can't blame you, but that's where the OP is coming from, noting a phenomenon that should theoretically apply to all grades of rubber, which may be less pronounced for the best of the best ones.
