Difficulty in rubber gluing to blade

All - I have the Andro Synteliac VCO blade. I am having difficulty in gluing rubbers to this blade. The blade surface is so smooth, that the rubbers just does not stick to it properly despite using a couple of layers on rubber and blade. I have used DHS #15 and another glue, but to no avail. The rubber stays on the blade for a day and afterwards i can feel that it becomes mushy and if i just remove the rubber, it comes just like that.

Any solution to fix this problem? Please let me know if you have had similar problems with other blades.

you description of the situation is inexact and not detailed enough, i caht picture how well you're doing the glueing process (glue must be fully dried!), and which glueing interface is failing. let's assume that the rubber comes off with all glue layers and the blade remains squeaky clean yes.

Sure. Use a coarser sandpaper and lightly scratch up the surface a bit. This will help the glue to stick better. I do it all the time, especially after sealing blades.

I am very well versed in the gluing process, have been doing it for years. Never had any problem with other blades. It's just that this blade surface is extremely smooth.

Well. I use a quite coarse sandpaper, but very lightly. Just so you feel that you get some impact enough to make the glue stick. I use to rub it a bit diagonally over the fibres.

I use 280 0r 320 grit. If one uses 600 one is just polishing the surface.
The important part here is to use the sandpaper with a block and making sure not to round the edges. I am not talking about the "actual edge"but the 2 to 3mm along the edge.

Did you get this new and asked for a blade lacquering service or did you get this second hand after someone had butchered the lacquering of the blade? Try a different glue in case the one you were using has gone bad. Donic Formula First is very strong and reliable. If you apply it correctly, nothing should come off.

Just use some old school VOC based glue. Unless you're entering ITTF sanctioned tournaments, you'll be fine.

It is a new blade and no lacquering service was done or asked for. I have used both DHS #15 and Andro (new), but the results have been the same. Believe me, it is extremely smooth unlike other blades I have like Viscaria, ZQH90 and many others. As I said before, am encountering something like this for the first time and been playing for many years now. I guess sanding is the way to go.

Indeed it is but it must be block-sanding. Do a little research about it, it is not rocket science but important. I can understand the inhibition to take sandpaper to a beautiful new wood but with these waterbased glues we are using it is needed to give the glue a chance to key-in.
The only other way that just came to mind is: Glue sheets. Some are so sticky you could glue yourself to a wall. Only recommended if you keep your rubbers on the blade until they become throwaways.
