Do Butterfly blades need sealing?

Butterfly factory seal/treat their blades - at least for the Japan made ones.
I remember reading somewhere where a guy had contacted BTY about this, and posted the reply he got. The gist of it was that it is treated some way (I think it said waxed actually), and they did not recommend to further seal the blades.

Butterfly blades are pre-sealed in the factory, so you don't have to, but many players do anyway. I think it extends the life of the blade.

I've noticed that they're barely sealed in recent years, much less than compared to say 5+ years ago. It's easily noticed when you apply glue...when it's sealed well it spreads easily because it's not absorbed by the blade, but for the more recent blades I can feel the glue soaking in immediately, so it dries much more quickly. I would definitely seal them these days, while I would not have bothered a few years ago.
