The deal will see all tournament matches played on Dunlop’s top-of-the-range EVO 8000 Master Edition table with all championship officials wearing Dunlop apparel. This kit and equipment in addition to the full Dunlop range is available from SportsDirect.com.

Produced by Matchroom Sport and televised live throughout by Sky Sports, the WCPP aims to further increase awareness and popularity of ping pong and drive the sport onto the international television stage. Tickets for the tournament are £20 per day / £10 for concessions and can be purchased from seetickets.com.

The tournament’s new look format will see players initially compete in eight groups of eight players in a double elimination format where two wins means advancement to the last 32 while two defeats means the end of the road.

Played over the Saturday afternoon, there will be 80 matches in total to see the field reduced from 64 down to 32 players. All matches will be best of three games, first to 11 with a two point winning margin required.

From there the event is straight knock-out until the last two men are standing and Sunday night’s final will be over the best of five games.

Sunny Singh, head of sports marketing at Dunlop, said: “We are extremely proud to announce this exciting partnership. Associating ourselves with such a tournament demonstrates our continued commitment to supporting top events. It’s an innovative format and we’re sure the tournament will be enjoyed by players and fans alike.”
