You have to earn the chance. You know all too well that Champions tournaments have an NER limit of 4 and Smash tournaments have an NER limit of 6. That's on them to try and position themselves to get to top 4/6 by the end of 2026 so they can play in those high level tournaments. They are both very good players, but they're competing against the likes of Hina, Odo, and Hashimoto who are ahead of them ranking wise. I mean I know you don't like Hina and Satsuki, but they are the ones winning tournaments this year apart from Miwa among the Japanese women.
Running in circles again.

For someone who kept arguing until the truth was confirmed by WTT personnel and then said "whatever the case may be...", I don't expect a different outcome here for this case.

With that said, one last time, Hirano and Kihara, in addition to Hashimoto, Sato, and Shibata, have already made it abundantly clear, hinting at the fact that they were not the top priorities of the team.

Heck, the way the composition of NT/NT candidate was deteremined didn't sit well with you, so please! Stop talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Is it just me or does others notice Omar always looks like he is out of balance most of the time and he still returns the ball due to his tall body stature and by extension his superior reach? In short, he is using uber long limbs to his advantage.

I noticed too that his movements have a tendency to become exaggerated and unbalanced especially when he is under pressure. I'd say he makes up for it with his athleticism and strength, he is remarkably (and surprisingly given his build) flexible too. But the quality of his ball is lower than the other top players IMHO.

other very tall players like Jonathan G & Patriz F do not seem to be tumbling here and there.

maybe it is african style, as Aruna Q seems also to be tumbling when hitting his trademark FH.

Hina and Satsuki got to where they are because of their own efforts. As I said, they're the ones winning the tournaments. Hashimoto and Sato have actually done a really good job of moving up the rankings. They both will have a good shot at future teams events as well as WTTC with the larger number of entries than the Olympics. Hirano's ranking fell off a cliff and she hasn't done enough to move up to be in contention. Kihara has had injury and confidence issues. She's working her way back and had a great win over CXT at this tournament. In all cases, if they dream of LA2028, then they need to move up the ranking list. That's pretty clear. What I said about NT/NT candidate has no relevance here.

The last time Harimoto got past R16, he reached the F. What about this time?

Harimoto from SGP GS 2022 to USA GS 2026:
GS - 11
R64 - 2 (18%)
R32 - 1 (9%)
R16 - 7 (64%)
QF - 0
SF - 0
F - 1 (9%)

(Despite the win, it was obvious that Moto didn't have a good way to deal with Togami. The third shot was always a push to let Togami put in a shot mano-a-mano. It was a completely disadvantageous game. Moreover, Togami made 5 or 6 service errors today, giving away points directly. In the end, the total score was still the same. Such a difficult game. Hukou book [Togami-Moto] is still quite interesting.)

Dude, you griped about the JTTA being stuck in the past despite Hashimoto's international results in 2025. Do you realize your latest post just brushes that all away, effectively telling Hashimoto to git gud?

You get zero funding from JTTA if you fail to make the first-string team and then you are at the mercy of your own affiliated team. What does that translate to? Tell me.

Quite interested in how far Peng can go, or rather how soon the novelty of her style will wear off.

She feels like another Idesawa Kyoka, albeit uses anti-spin rather than LP, and seems to twiddle much more frequently.

Hashimoto I felt had done enough at that point and should have been on the national team. But the process for getting on the NT is a black box. Very different from the Olympic race where clearly you need to get your ranking up as high as possible. And Honoka is doing that. She's 4th highest Japanese woman which puts her within the WTT Champions NER limit. But even prior to being on the national team she did an amazing job moving up the ranks. You could say the same thing for Sato (WR#16) who has done amazing despite not being on the national team.

Togami (13) 2-3 Harimoto (4) (-12, 7, -10, 9, -9)
G2 75 Togami served off the table, 85
G3 107, 109 TO for Togami, 1012
G4 20, 21 Togami served off the table, 23, 33, 34 Togami served off the table, 35, 45, 46, 76, 78, 98, 99, 119
G5 20 TO for Harimoto, 23 sideline edge for Harimoto, 24, 44, 45 Togami served below the table, 55, 56, 66, 67, 77, 78, 88, 89, 99, 911

Two major factors behind the win, Harimoto's serve and Togami's serve. Couldn't have done it without both.
Even watching the highlights alone, having cut out all the service errors, you can still see Togami giving the match to Harimoto when he should have finish it 3-0, JNT should find a way to let Shinozuka soul possesses his body when he plays for real

She is, but theee are some important differences. She can actually can do all the strokes with both sides. And the ability to flat hit with anti offensively with consistency can be pretty devastating because of how dead the ball comes off. The commitment to playing this way is admirable.

Peng Yu-Han is going to be trouble for a lot of players. The 18 year old took out Pavade, Hashimoto, and Nagasaki on her way to the QF and was no pushover for WMY. She'll be within the top 30 after last year's Euro Smash points expire on 8/24.

[http://t.cn/AXNn23QR] Moonlight_Rio的微博视频

Some Tieba members actually predicted it would come down to the final game and even how the score would pan out.

Could those TTD members that looked down on them and OTOH asked for respect have done that? I doubt it.

A. Lebrun (9) 0-4 Harimoto (4) (-9, -7, -11, -13)
G3 51, 54 TO for Alexis, 55, 65, 68, 78, 79, 89 endline edge for Alexis, 109, 1011, 1111, 1113
That edge couldn't save Alexis.
G4 14, 34, 35, 55, 56, 66, 67, 77, 710, 910 TO for Harimoto, 1110, 1111, 1211, 1213, 1313 endline edge for Alexis, 1315
That edge couldn't save Alexis.

Harimoto was visibly stiff after Alexis switched to the tomahawk serve in late G4. Given his 2-3 loss to LJK at WTTC 2026, I get the hunch what happened at Hangzhou 2022 against JWJ (the cause of which I predicted was going to happen again at Paris 2024) is set to repeat again at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

As someone said earlier, everything in this event right now is pointing to Harinoto winning it unless Sora regains sharpness or Felix/Hugo find another gear. The Felix and Hugo matchup is the only one that I have some reservations about the favorite winning. But I still believe at the moment that Felix will take it.
