It's funny how one guy is judged by results and the other guy is judged by playing like Korea or something like that. Togami's style is also extremely high risk, lets not pretend that because he has a better backhand it is not. Let's try to bring a modicum of fairness and objectivity to the surpassing games and move it away from the whims of Tieba users and zeio please. They are both clearly working on their issues. Anyone who pretends that Uda didn't play far more consistent and better backhands today than he usually does was probably blinded by his amazing forehands but one can go and rewatch the match, the backhands are in plain sight.
Not that I was comparing apples and oranges by that post, but care to show me the kind of singles results Togami has? Uda and Togami pale in comparison to Shinozuka and Tanaka, yet Togami is arguably worse than Uda in ITTF (especially in junior years) and WTT events. Up until Harimoto's reaching the final at US Smash 2025, Uda had the best finish in GS, semifinal at Singapore Smash 2022, beating Boll in R32 and QD in QF, the latter of which he lost to in R128 of WTTC 2021 after injuring his arm during practice.

In terms of continental events, Uda finished 4th at Asian Cup 2022, where Harimoto won after the early exits of WCQ and LGY. Togami might have won bronze at ATTC 2021, but China skipped it and the field was weak.

So in other words, while neither has won anything major, Uda has done arguably better than Togami by getting deeper in tour events and winning a couple?

Togami is now a WTTC singles quarterfinalist. That matches the best result by a male Japanese player in the event over the last 15-20 years. The opponents that Togami lost to in those WTT finals were high quality, arguably better than beating Harimoto and Lebesson like Uda did (and Togami could have done as well as he has proven repeatedly).

The main point here is to stay away from what you feel about the players and to focus on what they are actually doing or have done. Both players are working hard and improving. In fact, one could argue that the main reason why Togami has worse results than Uda is that his high risk style works great under comfortable conditions but is susceptible to disruption vs unfamiliar opponents. Hearing you, one would think that Uda is the one taking all the risk and Togami is safe.

If I were Bergstrom, I would've petitioned the EO to put the match on T2/3/4 instead.

When is andro's anti coming out? Gotta capitalize on Winter's success.
Not until the next Olympic cycle, if Andro wants Winter to succeed.

This young man, Wen Ruibo, is going to be downright scary with experience.
He has a tendency to lose many points in a row when things not going his way.
At one WTT event, he was in good shape and bullied his way to the final. Then, he crumbled in the final, losing badly with one game scoring zero point. In the award ceremony, he was still in tears, just couldn't accept the result.
He is an offensive wonder machine but lack of mental toughness and resiliency. Lets see if he can improve as he matures, otherwise, he will be another LGY type player.

Hugo did this in the final in Argentina as well (10-3 down to win). So whether it was about Hugo or Ruibo is open to debate.
