Is rxton 7 really good or am I just imagining things? I got a sheet in 40deg and it's quite delicious to use. Not just good for the money but like it's really really good. It has very good bounce and catapult, the topsheet feels very nice and elastic. It gives me like K3 vibes with more Chinese feeling but not that much more. It's almost like a sticky ESN rubber with a better topsheet. I think I like it more than LAC, maybe more than K3 too.
Not very heavy either, 51g cut to normal blade, the grip and stick is just right, the bounce and catapult are very noticable. Totally playable on BH side too even in 40degs, doesn't feel that hard.
I have it on an ALC blade with a very hard top ply, and it feels super sharp. Maybe the fault tolerance is not that high but so far I don't want to complain about that either.
The topsheet is similar to STN in a way but the sponge is more bouncy, so the total feeling of the rubber is more like K3 or similar ESN rubbers. For sure it feels more bouncy than Donic C2, so maybe Dragon Grip is the closest but I have more memory of K3 and C2.

Quite unexpected since Rxton9 should be the flagship rubber? For sure that is meant to be boosted but even then I didn't like it at all, but Rxton7 is just great out of the pack without any booster.
It's pretty cheap too almost half price of LAC so I am very amazed.
Rxton 7 seems good, i think it got mixed reviews at the release, but overall good to recomend for players switching from ESN or Butterfly to more chinese feeling.
Here is a fun review with spinsight:
They also tested Arthur china, Rxton 1, 3 Pro , 3 blue. other brands as well.. i think they got interesting results for the average player atleast

I'm tempted to try it on BH, but how many version of Rxton7 are there? and what version are you using?

I have the 40deg black, just standard version. I think just for a test the standard is good enough. If you don't mind playing with 2 black rubbers it's also OK or put it on a B racket to try.

Unlike the other rtxons, I didn’t see the rxton7 variants from aliexpress. One model with 3 different degrees (37 red and 39,40 black).
There is a national version, the packaging has Zhou Yu on it.

If someone wants it for BH side and the harder sponge version, I think only the national red version is feasible, though I don't know its hardness. (of course I'm assuming the FH side is already occupied another chinese black rubber like H3 BS... I guess most people don't face this problem but some have to decide which hand to bite)

I've played with the red RXTON 7 national 38° on my backhand for a while.
It's good for flicking and backhand kicks, but when I step back to do powerful loops, it lacks the support.
40° might be better in this aspect.

what blade did you use ? did you boost it ?
No, I didn't boost it, that would only exacerbate the problem I had. Besides, I don't think the sponge is good for boosting.
I am back to rxton 9 38° on BH (this one with a lot of boosting).
Blade is TMXi pro

Today I played, for fun, with a 9€ XVT Cybershape. I glued on it a Rxton 3 Pro on the forehand, and a Rxton 5 blue (black sponge) on the backhand. The Rxton 5 had a weird behaviour, with some spots having really different rebounds than other spots. Probably bae gluing from me. Rxton 3 was close to the Target National I usually play with.

I play Rxton3 PRO exclusively now on my FH on all my setups. Give me a great feel and i use them all unboosted

Played a bit with rxton 7 37red and 39black on a Yinhe t2 today. Feels good on forehand. Can’t decide if i like it on backhand. Might be the blade since it is very stiff.

I reglued them on to an andro vci to see if i like it there.
Did a session with them on the vci. On forehand its a beast. Good feel and speed. On backhand its good for blocks and loops if your timing is good. But your timing needs to be really consistent.

Good short game on both

I haven't used the Rxton 7 for a while myself -- i bought a bunch of them when it first came out, but found them a mixed bag.

While I initially really liked it for its dwell and spin (especially during serve) i found it pretty crap for topspin looping. It had a 'hole' in its rebound when i started hitting hard... for a while there it seemed the harder I hit with it on my forehand side the LESS fast the ball went. At maximum force the damn thing almost turned into a shock absorber (a really high ranked chinese university player tried one out once during a coaching workshop I was at -- he was trying to demo a proper FH loop with one away from the table. He swung once with it, the ball just died and hit the net, and he just laughed his arse off at it. He then increased his hitting power by about another 20% and that's when it started to perform consistently.)

Much as I do genuinely love a lot of Loki's standard rubbers (R3 Blue/ R3 Pink / R9 / T100) , sometimes I find myself cynically wondering if the reason they keep inventing new variants is to hide some genuinely bizarre QA issues that keep cropping up. 🙄🙄

Not to be disparaging, but sometimes It almost like anytime a slightly wonky batch of rubbers is produced, they just give it a brand new name rather than chuck it in the bin 😂

It's a shame really, because their better rubbers (T100 & R9 in particular) are genuinely great value and perform extremely wel on the whole -- I buy and use both these rubbers regularly myself, for that very reason.

Its a mixed bag but Rxton 7 seems to be well received lately...good reviews overall specially for people transitioning to hybrids or more chinese style rubbers...🤷
