He was a keen observer of Islamic tradition and was inspired to create modern structures that reflected Pakistani tradition and culture. His first work showed his unique method of Islamic architecture. He combined traditional elements with modern design principles to produce strikingly original architectures.

Jafri’s most well-known initiatives include Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISEX) The Lal Masjid mosque in Islamabad as well as his Peshawar Central Bus Terminal (Peshawar Bus Terminal Project).
