True that's another weird thing about it, someone from Brazil said he had no issues though. I guess there's always vpn otherwise, but that's kinda my point, they made it the least accessible they could. Didn't even inform international viewers anywhere on how to watch, no basic info post on social media etc, really dropped the ball on capturing the hype.

so my player is asking what kind of level is the Canadian league.
So, I told her, there is no pro league and amateur league as best.

yeah, I had to explain that to my player, and said there is actually a thing called amateur leagueYeah. We don't have league
she asked me, if the players get paid.
i said no, the players pay to keep the league alive - ie, going to the matches by themselves, and maybe even buying drinks/snacks. Funding the match balls themselves etc. Some times even have to pay for the venue hire.
she was like wow.

Duda is highly ranked world class player, Ruiz is not.
Some folks like to use FZD to discount the current number 1 ranked LSD, as FZD handled LSD with ease in recent Chinese Super league twice. However, LSD is an absolute Duda destroyer, The way LSD dominated Duda makes him look like an amateur player.
Is FZD's German league debut shows he's all hype?

One thing for sure, after years of reform, including rules change, ball size/material, equipment and tournament design, plus the technical development, finally, ITTF has fulfilled its mission: bring true parity to the game, especially internationally, and break one or two countries years/decades of domination of the sport. In general, this is a good thing as making the sport more competitive benefits the whole table tennis world including the major victim of most these changes: China.

FZD is so use to the grippy tables and balls of DHS and Double Fish. It will take a bit for him to get use to playing different tables and balls each week.
Are there any home teams that have tables and balls similar to DHS and Double Fish.

I talked about this before re CNT and its preparations and was laughed at by the 2 usual.
CNT as a unit has shown threats of not having "good enough preparations".
This applied heavily to the Asian champ last year, where they went straight from Beijing Smash, to a new environment (different altitude too), different table/balls and then 14 year old kids starting to become the next Waldner threat.
One thing I told a lot of my players is, never underestimate a league opponent.
Leagues are more difficult to play than tournaments and changing tables/balls/halls every other match is the small thing.
There is traveling in car, some times overnight, and as I heard some TTBL players saying, a 7 seater going near 200km/h and he said if there was an accident, he would have no chance to survive.
Western/German meals, not your team chef preparing for you (very heavy on starch and little to no greens)
no medical/physio, training partners with you.
German's train half the hours than Asians.
There are just so much that is different, and as Huang Yan-Cheng told me, when he loss to Feng Yi-Hsin on his TTBL debut, and this was coming from a 3 or 4 year winning streak (over a dozen wins on a trot over Feng in Taiwan) that Feng is a much stronger player in Germany, than in Taiwan.
