The only drawback for me is playing from position 3 (> 3 m behind), where I need more power. There I miss an ESN or Tenergy.

Cheers

Yes, when we performed this kind of exercise today - looping to looping far from the table with coach - I performed significantly worse than usual.
My first thoughts were maybe this is the day when I’m not feeling the ball. But then I picked my other racket with new D09c and it goes other way around - that additional speed from the spring sponge x is much better in that kind of exchanges.

H3 requires somewhat different technique to achieve max speed compared to ESN/BTY rubber when looping. The technique is not harder, just different. Once you get use to it, H3 is nearly irreplaceable. If H3 is just once percent worse than ESN/BTY rubbers for looping to looping exchanges, there is no way more and more pros use it now than before, so I think it is not the case.

I can loop with anything really. If it better for pros it’s not meaning that is better for everyone else automatically. Same goes with the blades - if Ma Long used w968 then it’s automatically the best blade for everyone? No it’s not of course.

I think it’s not the case - it’s matter of preference, I have played with D09c on forehand for about four years - so ofc it is better for me than a rubber that I played for three hours 🤓

That's essentially what I was saying, haha. You need suitable technique for H3, not that H3 is slower than D09C. In fact, I play with both rubbers and H3 is faster if you can fully engage the sponge.

hmmmmm....I think most people say that when you're 3 or 4 steps behind the table the hurricane feels sort of.....lacking? I sort of agree but I also learned that if I adjust my paddle angle to be more open, I really do not have that issue. so long as i'm using the full power of my legs.

I remember when i used tenergy 05, i had to always keep my paddle very much closed, even from further back or the ball would fly off the table. With hurricane, I have my paddle slightly open, use all the power from my legs and hips, and I can hit the most ridiculous loops even from further away. Loops i could never hit with my tenergy.

You have a very powerful forehand, so i think you could make this same adjustment quick enough.

I’m not disagreeing guys, I’m telling that for now I need some time to adjust.

And the only thing that was unusual is this exercise in comparison with D09c. I can hit really hard so the problem was not the sponge engaging rather I need to find out and working on proper for h3 stroke brushing angles for far from the table looping. Close to the table I was hitting rockets just when I step few meters away consistency was not there 🤓

for sure man! it's definitely an adjustment from the spring sponge (And spring sponge x). I'm by no means an equipment junkie but i do know each piece has its trade offs. At first i struggled with smashing lobs with the hurricane....still maybe miss those due to the rubber vs when i had tenergy. also explains why FZD will twiddle away from his hurricane on high lob smashes. but the close to the table loops and counter loops, which is where i play 80% of my game..it really can't be beat for me. i got addicted to the sling shot feeling i get from the hurricane as opposed to the fast pop off from the tenergy. Either way, it's cool that you are trying out the chinese rubber even if it ends up not being for you. no one at my club even attempts these things. its all butterfly and ESN rubbers all the way.

Possibly it's a sign that there is nothing to do that far from the table except of getting tired 😁
With hurricane, I have my paddle slightly open,
You can do it with harder eurojap hybrids as well and still have surprisingly spinny shots, Tenergy is not that hard by modern standarts.

I like to trying out new stuff - that’s the part of tt that I enjoyed too, my coach is pretty conservative in this - all of the guys our team are using Dignics/Tenergy ( one guy that had highest national rank that is about 35 points in Ukraine system that is about about 2200 in usatt - is using boosted D09c and D05) besides the ones that are using pips.

I will play a tourney tomorrow and I’ll take Ovthcarov ALC with me and will playing some games - will see how it perform 😏

Thanks! I’m gonna ask today but from what I remember it’s one layer on both D09c/05. And the blade is ZJK SZLC
