Lots of us hobby players, especially adult learners, use equipment that's too fast to maximize win and improvement rates. I like G1 as a generic "do it all but not too fast" rubber with excellent durability. Never tried the ALXi blade but it's probably not a bad choice either.

G1 is like Toyota - all made in Japan

G1 is made in Germany, and quite a few Toyotas (at least those designated for the USDM market) are not manufactured in Japan either

Basically, if you are noob, begginer, advanced or never even grabbed a racket, don't worry, you don't need to use your brain cells anymore thinking about which setup you should get, this is the ultimate setup for every table tennis player right now, you basically can't go wrong with this.

interesting - i’ve always thought it is made in Japan mainly bc i’ve never used it

well, in table tennis, made in Japan's Toyotas beat the German Mercs, BMWs and Audis....
