Gewo Inventus XT PRO tests

Hey, everyone! Just curious, if someone has already tried new Gewo Inventus XT PRO rubbers or planning to get one?)

Ordered the 47.5 and the 50 in max. I also use 48 SuperSelect and sometimes 50 (depending on the blade). I was told that superSelect will still remain the top of the line but am interested in how it would perform.

Update: I will glue the rubbers either today or tomorrow and will post the weight. I will play with them either Tuesday or Wednesday and will report back.

I glued it on a timo boll alc, and for reference I am using the Gewo Nexxus EL 48 SuperSelect on a timo boll alc as well and will have a direct comparison. At first impression, when checking the rubber for catapult (by spinning the ball and countering the spin), there is a "click" sound (kinda like a thin contact) but the catapult feels good when engaging the sponge a little bit more. At first the 50 feels a little softer than 50 degrees but hard to tell without playing. Same for the 47.5, feels a little softer than 47.5. Comparing to the 48 superselect (albeit 3 month old), the Inventus feels like it has more catapult.

I also noticed the Inventus has a less pore sponge, but the topsheet is very flexible. I will report more when I get a chance to play.

Hey, @ander999 ! I've also tried Inventus XT PRO and have the opposite feeling. For me, the Inventus 47.5 feels harder than the EL 48 SS and Nexxus XT48.

I had the Yinhe Pro 05, and with the EL 48 SS, it was pretty difficult to control. My coach told me to try a slower blade, so I went for the Butterfly Hadraw 5. It's okay—slower—but after the Yinhe, I felt a lack of ball feeling. I played it with Nexxus XT 48 and EL 43. EL43 was really soft and mushy, XT 48 is ok, fast, reactive. When Inventus have arrived, I tried them on this blade. At first it became slower, but pretty consistent) The problem was that on thin contact, it was really hard to engage the sponge, so the ball tended to slip off the rubber.

I decided to return to the Yinhe, and it was the right decision. The carbon blade helped engage the sponge earlier, and the ball feeling was there as well. The Inventus XT PRO is less reactive than the EL 48 SS, so it helped me tame the Yinhe Pro 05.

In conclusion, I do like the Inventus XT PRO—it's less reactive but has power potential, nice spin and counter, and good feeling on serves. Additionally, in my opinion, it requires a stiffer or carbon blade. I think I’d like to try the 50 or 52.5 version later.

P.S. The Inventus XT PRO 47.5 + Yinhe Pro 05 suit my backhand really well. My forehand is okay, but I have this feeling that it could be better, so I switched to the Codexx EL 52. If that doesn't work, I'll stick with the Inventus XT PRO on both sides and stop this rubber search!

I definitely feel that the 47.5 feeling softer than EL 48 SS, but that could be because of blade of choice and the glue. It does make a big difference.

My prediction: Inventus will be faster on slower stroke shots (because of the more catapult I experienced, but will bottom out earlier in comparison to the EL 48 SS). I will write back once I get a chance to play with them.

First impression is this rubber has better grip compared to Nexxus SS (Super Select) series. I can also confirm the marketing and what the catalogue state about these rubbers, they are in fact spinier. The control on them is also much higher when compared to the 48 SS. The speed is lower, by maybe about 10% which is significant.

I enjoyed using the Inventus 47.5 XT Pro more then the 50 because it felt more livelier. My earlier impression still remains, they do feel softer then their respective number, but not by much. The 47.5 in my testing was faster than the 50.

Side note: The XT Pro 47.5 feels very similar to Xiom J&H X50 (which is fantastic rubber if you haven't tried)

All in all a small summary below. Please ask questions if you are curious about something because I am sure I may have missed something.

I think when it says XT Pro you can assume it's a grip-full rubber. I have been playing with a Hype XT Pro 40.0 for years and this rubber also has super good grip. I suppose it is typical of the XT series.

Great point, I just haven't used XT Pro in the past.

Can you compare please to Nexxus EL Pro 48?

SS 48 and EL Pro 48 are very similar except the SS48 is faster, spinnier, and less dwell time compared to the regular version. I think the dwell time on the inventus and the EL Pro 48 are very similar.
Speed: EL Pro 48 > Inventus XT Pro 47.5 > Inventus XT Pro 50.0
Spin: Inventus XT Pro 50.0 > Inventus XT Pro 47.5 > EL Pro 48
Control: Inventus XT Pro 50.0 = Inventus XT Pro 47.5 > EL Pro 48
Arc: EL Pro 48 > Inventus XT Pro 47.5 = Inventus XT Pro 50.0 (EL Pro 48 has higher arc).

If you like the EL Pro 48 and have no issues with it, I think you should stay with it.

Sales on Contra.de, I ordered a Inventus 47,5º and a SS 45º for 45€ each. The latter is my BH rubber since the beginning of the season. I prefer it to the SS 48º because of the feeling I have with it. Since Inventus seems softer than SS, I think it's worth the try.
