How do i know if my rubber is dead

Be clear. Which rubber do you think is dead. In your original post, you said Nittaku G1. Then you say Donic Coppa JO Gold.

It could be both, but the dead rubber could not have magically swapped from one to the other.

The first exercise in that video, if you actually know how to do it, is a good way to test the grip of the rubber. If the ball slides off and you can't get it to go straight up with spin, the rubber might be losing grip.

Or if you held a ball and did not let it spin and gently pressed it into the topsheet and tried to slide the ball on the topsheet without letting it spin, if it slides easily, the topsheet has lost its grip. If it sticks and does not want to slide, the rubber probably still has acceptable grip.
I said donic coppa jo gold because someone asked what I played w before nittaku. However thanks for the tip, I'll try and see if the ball slips
