How to clean reused rubber

How do you remove the glue residue on the removed rubber? so it will be clean when you use them again

I have no idea about the brand since it was glued already, but I assume it is voc free, water based? the blade is clean though when I removed the rubber

I tried it with a ping pong ball, it won't come out, looks like I have to glue it oh boy

1. You probably don't need to. Takes a lot of glue to make a difference.

2. Lighter fluid and light rubbing.

it is a Xiom Vega Japan rubber, it seems to me the glue was absorbed by the sponge layer? the texture is rough, no glue residue was left on the blade though

Doesn’t look too thick. I can kinda look through it there. I would just probably glue on top of it, saving lots of hassle.

Use a dish sponge. It is definitely more effective than the pingpong ball and also give less damage to rubber sponge

yeah the glue is very thin , it seems to have been absorbed by the sponge layer, tried to rub it with a pingpong ball but no go

I answered here.

Steps;
1) Put paper onto glue layer
2) Hold iron few seconds on paper
3) Remove paper
4) Rub heated glue layer with back of spoon
5) Repeat this until all glue is removed

This is the best solution that I used so far. Maybe few sponge particles come off. If you are careful and glue is heated enough, you can remove glue perfectly.

It takes 5 minutes per rubber.

I personally switch off steam mode, and hold the iron until I smell the glue

Use this product on small piece of kitchen sponge and lightly wipe it over glue only, make sure you don't touch topsheet. It will be easy to remove old glue with fingers. Don't use citronella lamp oil, you need pure bright one.
I've found it in local hardware shop, 1L was cca £5. That should last me (and my teammates) until retirement
