Humid Rubbers.

Hi, I was playing at my local club the other night and the air was quite 'sticky' it turned my Rasant into antispin causing me to lose to players I usually beat. The rubber is only two weeks old and I have had this happen to other ESN rubbers.... I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to combat this??? Has anyone else experienced this when playing in humid conditions?

I have this during summer when the weather is very hot and my rubbers become like wet and feel dead. I use a sweat brace for my wrist during that time, not because of the sweat but to dry/clean my rubbers between rallies. You can use your towel but its annoying when you cleaned it 2 rallies ago and it becomes wet again and you have to play 4 more rallies before you can clean again.

Extreme humidity will cause many rubbers to become slick.

You cannot overcome physics if teh rubber you use is especially prone, like many modern rubbers.

A few things you can do are to keep it clean, and wipe it off with a dry towel between points and use you hand to wipe, just like you see pros do all the time.

Best suggestion I have is to temporarily use a rubber that is less prone to moisture forming, like 999 on your favorite sponge or H3. Either of these rubbers takes a lot of humidity before they get slick, if ever.
