Put another way, should a mod who had to be reminded of his contradictory comments be taken seriously?

But after learning that I, the recipient of the ad hominem attack, was already aware of it after my first post, the mods should've respected my choice to address it in my own post. The mods could've PM'd me for an alternative solution since they were monitoring behind close doors, as I still don't even know who administered the 24-hour ban here (no communication at all, not before and not after, just a ban message in a very condescending tone).
The way it was handled has set a very bad precedent, as deleting pongfugrasshopper's post is akin to removing the evidence and sweeping it under the rug (no public warning to the perpetrator), as if the ad hominem attack never happened.
Your post in the thread ITTF World Youth Championships 2025, Cluj Napoca, 11/23-30 was deleted. Reason: You can raise it in another thread or message a moderator.

To set things straight, the mods were free to remove pongfugrasshopper's post here.@zeio,
If you have an issue with a decision taken by moderators, I suggest you take it up with a moderator or the site owner. If you continue to post things that the moderator has deleted without finding out why they were deleted, you will be banned.
Your original post that drew attention called a 13 year old player "useless". Initially, @pongfugrasshopper wanted to argue the issue with you, but then decided to bring the post to the attention of moderators. He deleted his post for that reason and because he didn't want to derail the thread. The trend of insulting players explicitly is not something we plan to encourage here (at other websites, it might be different and you are free to do so at other websites if you so choose). That said, we haven't made a formal announcement around new moderation direction so I have delayed addressing that until such a time.
However, it is one thing not to know that @pongfugrasshopper didn't delete his post and another to decide that if a moderator (in this case myself) deletes your reposting of what he did, you can repost it. I would recommend in such situations that you find out why the post was removed if you haven't been told already.
I don't think there is any explanation of calling a 13 year old player "usless" but I accept that it is something you feel righteous about. Words like "undeserving", "benefactor of favoritism" etc. would have captured your intent better even if people may not agree with your assessment (obviously yhe JNT and coaches do not).
In any case, your last post is the last post that will be tolerated on this subject (and on this thread for sure from anyone). The tournament is ongoing and is one of the most popular tournaments with fans of TT so let's keep the focus on the tournament. You can decide by how you deal with it it wherher you want to continue posting your insights here or wherher you want to litigate the issue on this thread. Litigating the issue in this thread will not be tolerated and will result in your being given more time to relax. You can take the issue up with any of the staff if you want to continue discussing it. You dont have to agree 100% with what the staff does here to post here but I am sure you can find a balance.
Have a good day.
