Is it a good idea to cut a FL blade to CS?

Hi!
My usual playing style is shakehand but I like to play penhold sometimes.
I have a spare Yinhe PRO-05 blade. Do you think it's a good idea to cut it's handle to make it shorter as for CS blades?
I don't want to buy a CS blade. I don't have money for that.
What suggestions do you have related to this topic?

if the blade is cheap then no matter, it can be cut short to play penhold just fine. But be aware that the surface area of a shakehand blade is smaller than a real CS blade

most blades(including yinhe pro-05) have a hollow handle.
you'll probably want to plug the resulting hole with something.

Better do a trade or sell it and buy a cpen.
If you cut it, you will never be able to sell it.
I saw in eBay someone wants to sell Butterfly Hinoki Shake but cut into cpen and he hasn't managed to sell it for months 😅

I did it with yinhe w6 blade and it plays just fine. As the previous guys said: there will be probably a 1 or 2 holes at the back that you can cover somehow, but there will be missing part of the logo on the top of the handle probably. At least it's there in mine w6.

There are 3 players in my local league that use the Penhold grip. The funny thing is that they all use Shake-hand blades.

You think it'd all be just fine and I hessitate to share this story because it's such an egg of face moment but I play penhold.

One time practicing on the robot at home I was using an old shakehand blade of mine I used to play with back in the day. Working on my form. All well & good until I smacked myself right in the middle of the forehead (like doing the salute type forehand motion) with that longer than Cpen shakehand style of handle. Man that really hurt and I felt really silly.

Ever since then, at least for me, no more penhold stuff with shakehand blades. I'm good.

No it's not the best idea. It is ok for practice or if you are a bit skint but penhold blades are a different shape so there is more blade face for your fingers and gluing style. Also cutting the blade from FL may mean it isn't as secure as you would want as your cutting the flare off so make sure it isn't slippery
