I will never understand how Hayata is such a freebie for CNT, every times she played a CNT player it's like they already got her in their palm before the match even start. Almost as bad as Hirano during Tokyo Olympic cycle
There is a thrase " Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
The Japanese team has definitely fallen into this trap by persisting with hayata too long. By all mean play hayata against other teams, but in the final against the chinese, play some one like Sato or Odo. They can't do any worse than hayata.
Had they played Sato in the 3rd single spot tonight, they would have already won 3:1

CNT: Hayata for LA28!

No Hirano, Hayata and Ito for LA28 will be the right thing to have for JNT.

It's in JTTA's best interest after WTT SCT London/Muscat 2025, XTWC 2025 and WTT F Hong Kong 2025. Doubles will be the main battlefield even though WR will be the major selection criterion.

Of the 3,
Hirano could remain somewhat competitive if she gives it another push given her sturdy body type (here and here) and to my surprise she will play WD with Kihara at Zennihon Takkyu 2026;
Hayata's injury- and disease-prone body type is just unsettling, and 3 years down the road?;
Ito's solo personality and the limit of her playing style and stubby body type are frankly out of tune with XT.

Hard to say that for sure when both Hayata and Sato lost their recent encounters to Kuai Man narrowly in the decider and there are other factors at play but yeah probably would've been worth a shot.

Losing to a Chinese team without SYS and WMY would've been unfortunate.

Hashimoto didn’t even raise her arms or shout anything after her (tough) win
I mean, everyone is aware of the elephant in the room...

No SYS and WMY. No fun. A title just a little more meaningful than the one at ATTC 2021 which CNT skipped. Pales in comparison with ATTC 2024, where WMY was missing as well.

Also, Hashimoto doesn't want to serve as a "pawn" for WT only.

A pleasant surprise for KNT, even considering their tradition of producing upsets. There's no telling they could produce more of them in XT at LA28.

Finally at that point 8 years later.

早田可以下了吧 (Can Hayata be dropped now?)
https://tieba.baidu.com/p/11127994193
古手步 直接美和带双削呗,你说奥运会有双打最多只能带一个削,问题是早田双打也就那样啊,伊藤平野都能下,凭啥早田不行,竞技体育还是成绩说话,颜值也不能换奖牌回来啊

(Just Miwa and double chopper. You might argue that for the Olympics, you can only bring one chopper for the doubles events, but let’s be honest: Hayata’s doubles performance is nothing special anyway. If Ito and Hirano can be dropped from the lineup, why can’t Hayata? In competitive sports, results are all that matter; you can’t exactly trade good looks for Olympic medals)

宝宝金水 理论上洛奥要上双削,必须有一削稳稳把早田踢下二号位,另一削拿推荐位,且双削保持竞争力?
IP属地:广东来自iPhone客户端5楼2026-10-22 22:44收起回复
(Theoretically, to field double chopper for LA Olympics, one of them would need to definitively displace Hayata from the number two spot, while the other would have to secure a nomination—and both would need to remain competitive, right?)
孤星坠落6K: 应该就是这种解法了,桥本佐藤其中一个踢掉二号 然后另一个靠双削女双拿推荐位,不然一个都去不了
2026-10-22 23:12回复
(This seems to be the only viable solution: have either Hashimoto or Sato knock out the No. 2, and then secure a recommendation spot through their performance in women’s doubles—otherwise, neither of them will make it)

Miyazaki already made it clear in his book from 2018. We saw that "philosophy" at work for the ATTC 2024 selection trial where Sato and Hashimoto lost to Odo and Yokoi ultimately got selected for the WD event.

That's probably what Sato was talking about by "running away from facing reality". Therefore, both Hashimoto and Sato (yet belonging to different teams) need to be successful to even have a decent shot (even more so now that Olympic WD is back). They are beneficial to the so-called team (JNT) yet get eaten alive by their teammates that are not quite real teammates. Not much different from China (who comes clean about the reality), but Japan has the gall to throw the term "fairness" around and many ignorant fans in Japan bash China for that, yet aren't even aware of their own double standards.

JTTA needs to give Harimoto/Hashimoto another try and Harimoto/Sato as well as Hashimoto/Sato a try. This rigidity is getting them nowhere. If finishing as the finalists only is their goal, then Kihara/Nagasaki have done way better than Harimoto/Hayata.

I suggested that for the WTTTC Final vs China that Japan should not have selected Hayata for 2nd singles. She lost both her matches against SYS and WMY and they lost the overall match 3-2. At the time would have been better to select Rin Mende as the China players rarely played with her or not at all compared to Miyu Nagasaki. Unfortunately Sato was not selected for this event.

I was told that by not selecting Hayata it will affect the team morale but the same thing keeps happening again where she loses to every Chinese player in a team match.

I hope Japan try and selects both Hashimoto and Sato in future events as I feel like their chances of winning against China when SYS and WMY are on the team are greater with these 2 players along with Miwa than continuing selecting Hayata and expecting the same outcome over again.
