SYS WR1 4-0 Winter WR12 (6, 6, 3, 5)
G1 44, 84, 85, 105, 106, 116
G2 64, 66, 116
After G2, Liu Yiu Cho is asking why WYD and QYX didn't use SYS' tactics, that is, serving long?
G3 61, 62, 92, 93, 113
Has Winter even landed one FH-steparound?
G4 30 TO for Winter, 31, 51, 54 1st successful FH-steparound for Winter?, 95, 105 Winter served off the table, 115

The RTHK32 host said it's a disappointing performance from Winter after the previous wins and color commentator Liu Yiu Cho added that if one knows how to play then it wouldn't get to G7, but if not, then it's directly a 0-4 loss.

WYD: Eh? Is Winter that manageable?
Winter: And I played worse here than I did at SGP GS 2026.

World Cup: Sabine Winter erreicht als erste Europäerin nach Petrissa Solja das Halbfinale
https://www.tischtennis.de/news/wor...aeerin-nach-petrissa-solja-im-halbfinale.html
(Unlike their last encounter, Winter rarely used her anti-topspin rubber this time, which neutralizes the opponent's spin. And when she did, it was usually by rotating the racket on her forehand side, using an aggressive swiping motion to position herself for her greatest asset after serves or short shots from the Chinese player. The lightning-fast Winter scored points against the Asian player today with her forehand topspin, which was mostly unreachable for her opponents and which she can execute from almost any position thanks to her quick feet. "Against Wang Yidi, I always play at the limit of my current level. I think my game against her in Singapore was perhaps even better than the one in Macau. The fact that I used the anti-attack less today than in Singapore simply evolved that way as the match progressed. Today I felt it was better not to use it too much, but only occasionally, so that my opponent wouldn't know what to expect next. But it doesn't really matter whether today's match or the one in Singapore was my best: I played very well in any case and I'm incredibly happy to be in the semifinals.")

I think Shin can do this...
Tiebans will just say Wang is losing to prevent Winter from entering the top 10 or something like that. Shin can do it, but Wang has to have a down day. Shin actually has a better chance against Sun than Wang to me, because Wang's backhand is harder to penetrate and Shin has the backhand game to try and get in vs Sun.

That Shin long serve is pretty effective... but luck seems to be on WMY's side

SYB WR14 2-4 WMY WR2 (-8, 11, 11, -6, -7, -5)
G1 52, 57, 67, 69 slight sideline edge for WMY, 89, 810 big net for WMY, 811
G2 32, 37, 57, 58 29.26 degrees challenge successful for SYB, 67, 69, 109, 1011, 1311
Liu Yiu Cho keeps pointing to WMY playing it a bit safe and not moving much such as stepping around to use the FH.
I think the drain from Hashimoto the previous night is a factor.
G3 30, 32, 42, 43, 53, 55, 75, 77, 97 slight racket edge for SYB?, 98, 108, 109 Step-around FH for WMY like what Liu Yiu Cho said, 1010, 1110, 1111, 1311
G4 45, 46 33.68 degrees challenge unsuccessful for SYB, 47, 67 TO for WMY, 611
Liu Yiu Cho noted at 57 that WMY is clearly not hitting as deep due to fatigue, and at 67 that CXT would've fallen against Hashimoto whereas WMY did her best job to carry the team this far.
G5 21 endline edge for SYB, 31, 32, 42, 45 slight net for WMY, 47, 67, 68 slight net for WMY, 78, 711
G6 13 TO for SYB, 15, 25, 26, 46 yellow card to WMY for stalling, 48 slight net WMY, 49, 59, 511
