ITTF-Oceania Cup-2026 is a table tennis competition to be held from 31 January to 1 February in Christchurch, New Zealand. The event will be organised by ITTF-Oceania under the auspices of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and will take place at Table Tennis Canterbury Incorporated, located at 294 Blenheim Road, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch 8041, New Zealand. This will be the 16th edition of the tournament and the third time in history it is staged in New Zealand.
The competition will be contested in men’s singles and women’s singles events.
In 2026, the ITTF-Oceania Cup-2026 will serve as a qualification event for the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2026, scheduled to take place from 30 March to 5 April 2026 in Macao. Winners, finalists and semifinalists in each category will qualify for the Men’s and Women’s Singles World Cups 2026.
Prize money may be offered, however details regarding its availability and amount will be announced at a later date.
In addition, the ITTF-Oceania Pacific Cup will be held concurrently, providing an opportunity for Member Associations from the Pacific region to compete at a high level (players from Australia and New Zealand are not eligible). The tournament will also be played in men’s and women’s singles events.

Tournament Qualification
  • The ITTF-Oceania Cup will feature eight (8) men and eight (8) women.
  • Member Associations (MAs) may enter up to a maximum of two (2) players per gender based on the latest ITTF World Ranking published three (3) months prior to the start of the event. MAs may select any eligible players, subject to Regulation 8.1, to fill the allocated quotas.
  • If the host association does not receive an invitation for its players under the above regulations, it shall be granted a separate invitation to the event.
According to the ITTF-Oceania Cup Regulations, Member Associations are invited based on the ITTF World Ranking list published on 1 November 2025.
ITTF-Oceania confirms that invitations were allocated as follows:
  • MEN’S SINGLES: Australia — 2 invitations, New Zealand — 2 invitations, New Caledonia — 2 invitations, Tahiti — 2 invitations.
  • WOMEN’S SINGLES: Australia — 2 invitations, New Zealand — 2 invitations, Tahiti — 2 invitations, Cook Islands — 1 invitation, New Caledonia — 1 invitation.
ITTF-Oceania will provide further details directly to each Member Association that has received invitations.
ITTF International Eligibility Regulations 3.8 and 4.3.6 shall apply.

Playing System
  • ITTF-Oceania Cup Playing System The ITTF-Oceania Cup will be played in the following format:
    • Group Stage: two round-robin groups of four players, determined using a modified “snake” system. All matches will be played best of five games.
    • Knockout Stage: group winners advance directly to the semifinals. Players finishing second and third in their groups will compete in the quarterfinals. The winners of the semifinals will play for the gold medal. No bronze medal match will be played. All matches will be played best of seven games.
  • ITTF-Oceania Pacific Cup Playing System The ITTF-Oceania Pacific Cup will be played in the following format:
    • Knockout Stage: all matches will be played in a knockout format. After reaching the semifinals, the winners will compete for the gold medal. No bronze medal match will be played.
    • All matches will be played best of five games.
Continental Qualification System for the ITTF Men’s & Women’s World Cup Macao 2026
  1. Each continent shall be afforded the opportunity to qualify players through a Continental Cup.
  2. The winner, finalist and semifinalists of the Africa, Americas, Asia, Oceania and Europe Continental Cups qualify — a total of twenty (20) players.
  3. An additional twenty-four (24) players shall be selected from the World Ranking.
  4. If the host association is already qualified, additional place(s) shall be allocated via the World Ranking.
  5. The latest available ITTF World Ranking on the date of publication of the initial invitations shall be used (Week 8 — 17 February 2026).
