Very interesting. No easy solutions for him. Close to the table blocking and countering makes Kanak the nail and Hugo the hammer. Kanak is great at this, but the nail always loses unless the hammer has a bad day. Either Kanak has to step back and win more rallies than Hugo (doesn't seem viable) or he has to win decisively over the table. But right now Hugo's serve is somewhat better than Kanak's, his banana flip is much better, and his short pushing has improved so much in the last two years that he's now at least as good at it as Kanak. Kanak's only slight edge may be forehand flip. Hard to see Kanak building a decisive edge from here, but at least his first step is obvious: Time to develop an illegal hook serve.Hugo reveals all Kanak's inherent limitations. It will be interesting to see whether Kanak can develop consistent solutions for them.
