If you say he doesn't play in MLTT it doesn't mean he doesn't play in MLTT? I am not fluent in English but this sentence looks pretty simple ...
It looks pretty simple. Human beings are usually not computers. If I say Ma Long killed or destroyed Fan Zhendong, it is equally simple no? It's not really an argument I get why you said what you said. I am trying to explain what I meant.

Eugene's level definitely has dropped in the last year or two, but he is still very good.
The match against Quadri is really old. Maybe elite power isn't the way to describe it, it's really a Hugo thing because Kanak has beaten lots of quality power players (Jorgic, Franziska) just as he couldn't do much against Dima who is in some ways a craftier Hugo.

Good wins for Kanak. But I think a better measure of progress for him would be eliminating losses to players outside the top 40 or 50.
His first few months back were slightly rocky as to be expected when returning from over a year of no tournament play. He is in really good form now - I think he should be able to stabilize his performance now against players outside the Top 50 but we will see.

I think you're right. His dominating performance at the US Open was a good sign.

Probably not for preliminaries...not really missing much
Still a bit lacking to me... that said, I am surprised at the entry list I am seeing in some cases, plenty of 2200 level players.

Agreed. Streaming is expensive though. For days where all the matches are lower level or guaranteed 3-0s, either USATT didn't have the budget for it or 888 didn't want to pay for it since making the sport accessible to the public and nice gestures aren't at the top of the priority list for either of them lol.

Main draws are out. Top half of men's (with Kanak) much stronger than the bottom half where it's hard to pick a favorite. I'd take Mino or Cifuentes over Ishiy. The Eugene of two years ago would have an easy path to the finals, but not any more.

If it’s not going to be a Kanak-Edward final then it’s already considered an upset final for whoever was skilled enough to take down one of these two
If Jha and Ly meet, it will be in the semi.

Ly ends up in the best quarter that he could ask for to make a deep run though Gomez and Jouti on a good day can be a challenge.

I remember that one. Cifuentes played his best ever tournament.

Eugene also lost to Mino deuce in the 7th at the 2022 Pan Am Games after a late controversial call that made Eugene lose his cool.

He lost to Ishiy that same year in one of the other Pan Am events in the Brazil/Canada teams match, and also again in 2021.

I am probably splitting hairs over the "2 years ago" portion of your statement but just feel there's been a general lack of understanding of the South American players in this thread.
