Sean’s BH is too slow against the placement and consistency of Eugene. Go Team Canada!
As it is against many people. Apart from the level difference, forehand only, rip-everything players are a type of style that Eugene generally destroys.

It looks like USATT YT channel is streaming the Pan Am Cup for free
Yes.
Sid blew too many chances to close out the pivotal third game, that might be costly
I didn't think Sid had a chance and am happy he won a game. I laughed when Mark initially called him the favorite and then changed that to the crowd favorite lol.

Didn't hear that but I'm guessing he did in fact mean to say crowd favorite seeing as this is being held at 888 and he trains here.

2-2 now and had a chance to be up 3-1...playing well, but finishing this match won't be easy.

Her is returning Brian's serve well and that makes a huge difference when playing Brian.

The top half of the draw is really interesting, with Jha, Iizuka, and Edward all together and Mino, Eugene, and Ishiy on the other half. The bottom half looks far more open compared to the top half

Canadians have to be thankful for their draws. Ly for reasons already explained, Laurent for drawing one of the only two RO32 opponents he has a chance against, and Eugene getting Sean into Madrid and then a chance to avenge the controversial Pan Am Games match against Mino.

Tbh I didn’t even think Laurent was making it since he lost his prelims against Iizuka but hes alr exceeding expectations imo. Eugene has a decent chance of making the final, and as long as Edward doesn’t bottle it against Afanador, he can make semifinals. If Edward has the game of his life he could even beat Kanak in the 7th but I would still be happy for a semi final finish. And who knows, Iizuka may even give Kanak a good fight

Laurent went 1-1 in prelims.

Unless Eugene turns back the clock, he isn't getting past all of Madrid/Mino/and either of Cifuentes/Ishiy

I don't think Kanak is going to have any problem with IIzuka.

Prelims is not an elimination type like most WTT Qualifying?

Based on the way Eugene was moving today, I would not be surprised at all if he does turn back the clock and pull out some 6 or 7 setters

Iizuka has a chance especially if he can deal with the serves of Kanak. In the rally he is about equal, if not maybe even better, than Kanak. Imo anyone who takes HYZ quite close has a chance of taking at least one or two sets against Kanak
