Does anyone have any experience with the Andro Kanter ALL+ blade? I'm attracted to a light-weight blade and this one tips the scales at just 66g. That's pretty much the lightest ALL+ blade that I can find. The Andro Temper Tech ALL+ also looks good at just 70g.

I generally play an allround game, a mixture of defence and attack on the BH, primarily attack loops and smashes on the FH. In match-play I generally favour the BH and 70% of my shots are BH.

Currently play with an Andro CS 5 OFF- (82g) and a Stiga WRB Allround Classic (77g) but want to try and shave a few g's off of the blade weight to bring my overall bat weight to around 145-150g.

I have no particular allegiance to Andro so if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm happy to hear them.

thanks

The Dr Neubauer Firewall Plus looks the closest fit for what I'm looking for...and it's nice and light as well. But the blade is a whopping 10mm thick! My current blades are 4-5mm thick so I'm not sure I could get my head around playing with a bat that had twice the thickness.

I've been playing with Andro Temper Tech All+ for a couple weeks, so will offer my rather unqualified opinion. I am unrated, play matches 3 times a week against players ranging 1400-2000, manage to have close sets with many of them, practice a few times a week as well. I wouldn't say I have much of a style yet, as I'm getting coaching on fundamentals, but I guess what I do would be pretty allround, with a combo of push/block and loop attack pretty close to the table.

Like you, I was looking for a lighter blade in the All+ category that had really good ball feel. I wanted control and sensitivity with lightweight so I can make quick transitions close to the table and place my shots precisely. I ordered all three handles of the TT All+ and kept the AN, felt the best to me. It's 70g on the dot.

So I slapped the 1.8 2008 XP on there, and immediately felt the issue of such a light blade with double inverted: head heavy. Although the whole bat was lighter than my previous setup, it felt weirdly heavy swinging it because of the weight distribution.

So I've been trying it with robot, partner practice, and Match play last couple weeks. My findings:

1). Definitely has softer feel and lower tone than my other blades: donic Baum Esprit, yinhe n11, dawei dw2. That took some getting used to, but now I'm kinda liking it.

2) of the rubbers I have, it feels best with the softest/bounciest one: bluefire M2. The blade has slowed these rubber down at bit from the Baum, I'm keeping more balls on the table.

3) however these are also my heaviest rubber, so the head heavy thing is quite apparent. I've glued a few quarters on the handle bottom, that has helped somewhat to balance it, but has brought the weight back up to 186g, so I starting to think, for me, it's rather pointless to have such a light blade if I have to do so much fiddling to get it balanced.

In conclusion, it's a very finely made blade with great feel, but is probably only gonna feel balanced with really light rubber.

Thanks for the reply. Could you drill some holes into the head of the blade to reduce the head weight? not sure if that would be illegal, but a dozen 5mm holes around the rim of the head would help balance it out a bit.

I would be Quite hesitant to do that for fear of damaging the outer plies on the blade face. A better thing seems to be this mods Der Echte has done on a bunch of blades, where you take off one side of handle, fill in hollow space with nails and wood glue, and glue it back together. Look up that thread, it's called Building a Monster Bat

Worth a shot if you've got a cheap bat sitting around.

Hi, I am interested in getting a Andro CSV Off- and to pair it with Mark V. Can you kindly provide feedback for this blade in terms of its performance, particularly Looping and Smashing/Flat-hitting capabilities? Also, how would you rate its speed and control?

Looking forward to your response. Thanks.

Past a certain point I don't think blades that are too light play well at all. May as well play with a piece of cardboard with a handle.
At least when it comes to 'legal' blades which need to be mostly wood.

Agree that Temper Tech is nice but head heavy. A mate has Temper Tech 2.1 Hexer and I have a Gewo Robles with 2.0mm Baracuda. His felt a bit heavier so we weighed them for interest and they were exactly the same weight. If you use lighter rubber then it's probably not that bad perhaps.
The head size is also compact. Plays well though.
