they kicked me out of mytabletennis forum for the 4th time supposedly for telling people to go to my site which is not allowed.
a couple of days later I see a thread like this

http://www.mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=55238&PN=1#678590

and the moderators that kicked me out are actually participating in the thread.
so what do you think?
do they have something personal against me?
is this a case of discrimination?
if you want to support my crusade against this tyrants you can do so by following my blog

yo dan how come I don't see my signature where I point to my blog http://pingpongrevelations.blogspot.com.ar/

Your signature will only display once per page in threads/discussion. This is to speed up page loads of discussions as there can be a lot of coding and information being loaded up at once... For example the China Super League thread :)

Hope this helps

Rules are rules, if we don't play by theme, we don't play, just like laws if we don't obey them we pay consequence. No matter if I like the rules or laws I obey them and if I don't I pay the consequence and that will make me stupid

I didn't even notice the advertising on mytt

Honestly I wasn't even aware of your advertising and I look at mytt once every day.

I see a lot of people advertising custom blades. That doesn't bother me. I simply read what I want to read.
BTW, it would take a lot to convince me that the moderators on mytt aren't on a power trip.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Most there can't tell myth, touchy feelly perception from reality.

correct but I showed them many examples of users who advertise their site all the time and yet they never even got a warning.
it's clear they have something personal against me.
I've also been banned from ooak now, since the guys who run ooak and mytt basically think the same way, and in many cases are "virtual" friends.

it's not even advertising cause I don't sell anything.
there are guys there who sell stuff and advertise their products all the time.
yet they have never been banned or anything.

I just would create a thread saying "hey I posted a new review about x product in my blog" and paste the link.
so they were like "oh you are moving traffic from our blog to your site".

like I was moving hords of people from their site to my blog.
you know how many people came from ooak forum to my blog from the thread I posted about a rubber review?
9 people.

but according to them I'm moving huge amounts of traffic from their forum to my blog and I'm becoming rich thanks to all the traffic I steal from them.

I don't sell anything, I'm not a coach, nothing.
I just have a blog where I talk about tt.

Hmmmm. You've been banned from Ooak and mytt? Interesting. More than one forum has banned you?

Not sure why you are bringing it up here. But I would just go on with my business if I was you and not be concerned. I mean, really, does it matter that they don't want you on their forum? And if it is that they have something personal against you, trying to air it on another forum does not really make for such scintillating reading and I am not sure that anyone ends up looking that good from stuff like this, particularly the person complaining.

"Not sure why you are bringing it up here"

I bring it up here because it is something related to table tennis and this is a table tennis forum where people talk about table tennis.

"But I would just go on with my business"
I don't have a business. I have a blog where I put a couple articles when I'm bored. that's it.
people for the most part have no idea what they are talking about when they talk about this stuff.
that's why they see an advertisement in the page and think the guy has a business and is making money which is completely wrong, at least in my case.
I don't have a business and I don't make money off my blog.

"I am not sure that anyone ends up looking that good from stuff like this, particularly the person complaining."
I'm not trying to look good or bad, just communicating what happens in my life.
if you are interested read, if not go to another thread.
again, this is a forum where people just talk about anything as long as it is related to tt.

"I mean, really, does it matter that they don't want you on their forum?"
it doesn't matter in the least if I get kicked out of mytt, of ooak, of tabletennisdaily.
I'm not so stupid.
I could have stopped the discussion hundreds of times in both forums and never get kicked out.
but to me belonging to mytt or ooak or here means nothing that's why many times I pushed the envelope on purpose to get on their nerves and see how far they would go.
if they could just let it go or they would get surpassed by their need to show power and control.
they could have just let it be and things would have calmed down, I would have kept posting a link every now and then (making them a favor because I'm actually posting in their forum) and that would be it.
but they couldn't do that.

they were wrong in both cases (I showed examples of other users who do the same thing as me all the time).
they didn't show respect and interest in keeping me as a user (after all I am their client and each time I read their forum or post in their forum I am working for them and keeping their site alive).
so at some point you could say I wanted to get kicked out.

with time I've began to get tired of posting.
it always ends in a discussion or people saying that you are wrong or nobody reading, etc.
I respect everybody but I've been training tt for about 8 years and having to to get in discussions with a guy who started 3 months ago is too much for me.
same thing when you post, your message has the same importance as a guy who started two weeks ago playing in his garage with his brother.
not saying that I'm always right, but I don't know, I expect something different I guess.
it's like at work, if you've been working for 8 years people will respect you and take what you say seriously.
if you started 3 months ago nobody will care what you say.
well it's not like that in forums.
that's why I'm happier now with my blog where I post what I want without having 3 instant replies going "I disagree bla bla bla".

as for the reputation you talk about, I'm not interested in creating a reputation or in people trusting me because I'm not selling anything to anybody.
I say what I think, if you like it read, if not move on.

I don't understand this paranoia about pop ups.

A moderator needs to be aware that a range of users (different levels of sense, age and computer know how) are going to be using a site. They have to moderate accordingly.

When you log onto your blog you get a pop up (yes this is advertising and it is not table tennis related) and underneath your title is a "download or play" button that some could think is part of the blog. It is not part of the blog but to some that may not be clear. Most sites do not like advertising without prior agreement and also the advert should be related to the theme of the site. If when you hit your link the first thing that you could see is a pop up advert I can understand the moderator being less than pleased.

Posting and moaning on one site is not going to change the decisions made on another. Time would probably be better spent understanding the moderators point of view and seeing if you can change the way your blog appears. I have seen plenty of blogs that do not have pop ups or download this buttons.

You need to conform to their rules not them to yours. Four temporary bans and did you change anything in order to prevent it happening again? Did you ask for clarification?

Sorry if this comes across as a bit harsh but communication and understanding is needed (and yes that works both ways) so all users can have a relaxed time.

You obviously did not understand the expression. "I would just go on with my business," did not mean that I am suggesting you have a business. It is an English expression that means, I would just ignore them and continue with my life and not worry about what they think. But you obviously misunderstood and got the wrong idea and wrote on about something that was not being implied. I think that is interesting.

And you wrote an awful lot in that post that makes it sound like you were trying to get kicked off those forums.

But I don't really get why you want or like to be so edgy and argumentative. How would it help you to raise an issue here about what happened to you there and then be sort of aggressive about it in a way that makes it look like they might have had a reason to kick you off their forums?
