Ya MJB trained in China, came to America to coach, went back to China for 2 years to train some more, and is now a coach at 888 table tennis center in Northern California.

Here is ma playing a pretty good match against former CNT player yu ziyang (2018 world team cup gold medalist with China). Losing 4 sets to 1 but some pretty tight sets.

Who is better between Kou Lei and Kanak Jha?

Why does it seem like all the USATT top players like MJB and Kou Lei are in a tiny region of the bay area?

Kanak jha is definitely better at this point and probably was better then Kou Lei ever was. Kou Lei struggled in the Bundesliga while jha is a pretty solid Bundesliga player.
