H8-80 was afair always available with specified sponge hardnesses: 37° and 38°
Normal H8 39°, 40° and 41° (formerly labeled with soft, medium and hard) but also available from some shops with 37° (e.g. dhs-729.eu, prott.vip or ttnpp.com)
which is harder? 37 degrees DHS(hurricane 8) or 38 degrees butterfly(glayzer)

my new find is k3 fx, before I used mk fx, fastarc g-1, glayzer, glayzer 09c and many more, Mk could also work, but I prefer k3 fx, it has softer top-sheet and the grip is amazing.
I have been thinking about trying MK fx for BH. How is the catapult?

Cheers

The 2 most populair ones are:
-Rakza 7
-Fastarc G-1

Rakza 7 is a bit more bouncy, but less grippy. Probably easier to play on bh.
Fastarc G-1 is not as bouncy, but has more grip.

So more grip means more spinny, but also more sensitive to spin and vice verca.
G-1 is not spin-sensitive, imo that's one of its many advantages: grippy / spinny when you need it and able to control incoming spin when blocking / countering etc.

In my opinion, G1 is a good rubber for backhand on blades with a softer top veneer, such as limba. With blades with a harder surface, such as koto, and especially with carbon reinforcement right above the surface, G1 plays worse in my opinion - less ball dwell time and a harder feel.

Agree 100%. I loved G1 as a backhand rubber on my 5-ply limba Acoustic but did not like it on my SALC

I didnt say that. Just in the comparison to Rakza 7 I said it is more sensitive. But only ever so slightly.

Used Rakza 7, now using G-1 and C-1, both Fastarcs a less spin sensitive than Rakza. But that's maybe just my subtle feeling..for me it's easier to return spinny balls with Fastarc. 🤷‍♂️

Hi all,

Any advice/suggestions for a medium or medium hard rubber on a carbon inner blade fitting to points mentioned below?

-Easy to push and drive
-Not big of catapult effect
-Not to speedy
-Not to spin sensitive
-Good in touch- and short game
-(relative) good in serve receive (not to springy)

I don't do any power loops with my backhand.. I rely on a stable serve receive / drive/ push / block / slow spin in my backhand game. I mainly use my backhand for controlling, I like to be agressive with drives in combination with active blocking.
Dignics 09c could work. It worked well for me in terms of drives. I used to have that on a korbel with a h3 Neo.

until recently I played with Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft on BH, then got Xiom Vega Asia DF and is even better for BH. good for serves, nice short game, great for blocking, very good feel, at least to me ... open-ups are spinny, could also to BH winner drives or topspins. thinking of getting another one for FH as well, because the feeling/touch is really nice, with a lot of control. or maybe it's the whole package with the blade (XIOM TMXi).

You could try Donic Bluegrip C2 or Stiga Mantra M. I tried both. I was more pleased with the C2 in terms of spin and feeling, open-ups, etc, but I ended up using Mantra because I couldn't find anything super bad about it. Average for anything BH related. I have to say that I changed BH from H3N 37 (I got tired of boosting it), so the bluegrip felt more familiar, but I found it kind of slow. Rozena used to be an absoloute shit for its price at 45eur but now that it costs like 30 i guess you could give it a try.

I do not agree here, but perhaps I need to be more specific:

- on passive or slow touch play, I feel Rakza 7 makes the ball shoot off *much* more than G-1
- on more engagement, G-1 has the better grip and thus will be affected more by incoming spin

R7 makes it easier to override the opponent's spin with active strokes (but with less spin as a result) while G-1 makes it easier to touch and stick out your bat on spinny serves.

I mean, I dont really see a difference in our opinions, so I dont know what part you dissagree on here

after couple of playing sessions I am afraid that Vega Asia DF is a bit too soft ... it has the right amount of speed, spin and especially control. I spoke to one of my local providers and he said that Xiom Sigma II Euro could be a good option ... I read a couple of reviews and they are mostly positive but I see that this is quite an old rubber and can't find specs for rubber hardness - is Xiom Sigma II Euro still a good option even in 2025?

I use Yinhe Moon 12 Blue mid hard (m+) on my BH and it has been great! Really affordable (less than 20 euros) and not too bouncy, give it a try!
