My teammates are jealous because I'm learning faster than them

I started table tennis 3 months ago in a club. I'm training a lot and I am already better than some of my teammates that are playing 3 years. They are being rude only because I'm better. And my ''coach'' is starting to slow down my training because he don't want me to win his veteran players.

What should I do? Ignore it? Talk with the coach? Change the club?

Thanks :)

Well, that is tough.
hey are being rude only because I'm better.
If they weren't my close friends, or training partners, I would just ignore. Otherwise, you may try to talk.

Are you really sure that it is happening? You may be overthinking. Anyway, if you are not satisfied with your coaching, try to talk to him/her and ask why is your training not as intensive as you expected it to be.

I'm sure. When I wasn't good enough to win the veteran players we were training fast drives and topspins. Now, We are just training slow drives and chops (I'm a penholder, not a long pips player).

Thanks for the advice

It looks like your club atmosphere is not conducive anymore for you to learn. If it were me, I will change the club that can give me better atmosphere to enjoy playing table tennis.
First you need to talk to your coach to confirm whether your worries are right or not. After you have some understanding with the coach, I think it's better for you to program your training.

One thing to note: attacking chop is more advanced than returning drives. Counterlooping slow spinny loops is more advanced than fast drives too.

I could have what you said wrong. Even learning to to push is a valuable skill. Your coach may actually be giving you higher level game skill learning.

So, it actually would be worth asking your coach some questions. Fast topspin is not advanced practice. It is much easier than the first 3 balls in a point.

He may be preparing you for the next level up.

Good point by UpSideDownCarl.

I see a lot of young players that play very decent at first sight. However, when they have to spin a ball that has just a bit more backspin, or I play the ball just slightly more different then they are used to, or they have to play against a pips-player.....it turns out their gameplay is not versatile enough and they loose the match. So it could well be your coach is learning you to play against different styles of gameplay.
