With slower equipment high chances for arm injury
Yes! Yes! Yes!

A little while ago, I used Butterfly Flextra ( eqv. to Mark V ) on both side. After six sessions, I start to develop shoulder ache. I was using more power than usual.

Would you use so much force if you were a newbie (struggling to get the ball inside) and never ever used a rubber faster than Flextra?
Would you get shoulder pain if you were 8/10/12 years old?

I am just asking. Idk.

I would not know, I never play TT at age 8/10/12. I first touch a TT blade in my forties and I only attended formal coaching two years ago after never winning and always being the loser. I got tired of losing...

My hypothetical questions were not only for the children. Scratch that question and I will rephrase the other:
Would you use so much force -leading to injuries- if you were a lets say 50 year old newbie (struggling to get the ball inside) and never ever used a rubber faster than Flextra?

What I am trying to say is that these rubbers existed long before the new era tensors/spring-sponge/hybrids/Hi-Tension/Hi-Speed rubbers, and I don't think that back then there were more injuries than there is now with the new-era rubbers.

proper coaching fixes that easily, and it's a much better investment than expensive equipment on the first stages anyway

With proper coaching you won't have problem using fast equipment as well. I see all kids in my club with Viscaria. Didn't see anybody with ALL + blade and Mark V rubbers

Yes you absolutely would use slower equipment if you’re not a kid: adults are not that adaptable and flexible as kids, so both ball feeling and body are affected. Meaning anything faster than regular OFF blade is useless, especially against more experienced opponents.

Kids are very adaptable, they train very regularly and injuries are almost impossible.
