Hi,

Has someone experience with the Palio Energy 03 and can compare it with Allwood Blades? Are they similar? It has 4 Soft Carbon ply. So it's not a 5 ply wood blade by definition.

I have a Palio Energy 03 and considering changing my main rubbers to it and test it. I want to try a allwood blade beside my ALC blade and stiga allround classic. Not sure if I can test with the Palio energy 03 or if I should by a real 5 ply wood blade.

I have used it as my first custom blade. I can only compare it to the wooden blades I have used, which are Yasaka Sweden Extra and Nittaku Violin.

The Palio is noticeably slower than both of those blades, even though it is advertised as OFF.
The carbon does offer a large sweet spot and it was very noticeable when I switched to the Violin. I have to be much more precise with the Violin.

From my experience, this is just a very slow carbon blade. Quite different from wooden blades.

Think here is the best place to drop my first (and probably last) impressions of Palio Energy 03. Bare blade, not sealed.

The so-so good:
Weight 82g
Frequency 1250Hz
Dimensions 156x151mm
Speed at low impact ALL
Relatively stiff
The sweet spot is bigger than 5ply wood, but smaller than OFF outer carbon blade.
Good dwell, not springy.

And the bad:
Terrible quality control!
Thickness between 6.6 and 6.9mm
Top layer thickness is twice thinner from one end to the other.
Use of thick paint for the text. Is catching my nails like >0.05mm with plastic feeling.

And this is the same "carbon", which is not carbon at all, although for this price it is normal :)
