However, you should varnish the blade before applying the rubbers and only sand off the wood (don't sand into the PITH Carbon film, it results in a hard edge). Also this is a fast blade (maybe OFF+) so before playing tournaments some practice at the robot is needed to get the pushes into control.
I haven't played the B2 so note the comments in the TT11 review about the B2X being more forgiving than the B2.

I have a b2x and I heavily disagree. As a penholder I have to significantly sand and roll off the edge of the wings of my blade. Pith carbon is like any carbon,you can sand it however you like. I've actually gotten compliments from people who try my blade on how well the wings feel because they are buttery smooth.

I don't know why you would feel the need to chop with a blade that's supposed to be for an offensive style? maybe for desperation... but i highly don't recommend it.

I agree that on slow/medium shots this blade is similar speed to MLEO, but the MLEO tends to top out on hard/spinny topspin shots. The B2 has more gears and can produce higher speeds on the top end.

I also think B2 has better overall control than MLEO.

for sure. I think that MLEO is weaker mid distance. If you ever get a chance to try the B2 at mid distance it's beautiful. It's also really good around the net (b2x)

Yeah I played some B2 from mid distance both FH and BH and I think its excellent. It's really made for Chinese-style topspin loops. And yes, net control is excellent. I don't think this is inferior to HL5 by any means.

Certainly not. It's just a different blade from DHS. Feeling is not like the HL5.

Its sometimes hard to compare feeling because the rubber might be different, and its kinda subjective to begin with.

How would you describe HL5 feeling and compared to Fang Bo? The most recent time I hit with HL5, it had a bit of a "hollow" feeling with vibration.

To me, B2 has less vibration, and a more normal feeling.

But again, memory is really hard to go by and its highly subjective to begin with.

Fair point. HL5 has a weird feeling to me, a muted carbon feel but you can feel the vibration through each individual layer? As compared with Fang Bo B2X it's almost like you feel the blade as a whole.

It's difficult to explain. To me HL5 has more of like a wavy feel in the hands-perhaps more vibration? while B2X is kind just a more articulate feeling?

I don't know if any of these makes any sense, and this is partially what drew me away from the HL5 was the vibration was unpleasant for me.

To me, my b2x feels like the middle ground of viscaria and hl5 feeling wise...

It's feels like an outer carbon but it's inner, most likely due to it's thicker core.

HL5 feels like an inner.
