Harimoto's dad is poor at calling TO. He can't let this happen time after time. He needed to call TO in G6 at the latest. He always saves it for G7. That's too late already. The tide has turned.

Decided to skip the early matches after learning the draw because yours truly knew it...

Speaking of yours truly...

I would not be shocked to see Jang Woojin upset Harimoto in the first round.

Harimoto couldn't close it out at 3-1 10-8. Sluggish start by Jang but when he brought it to 10-10 I knew it was anybody's game. Did a good job of getting the big forehand in and Harimoto couldn't handle it.

ok JWJ played better, from game 5, but its quite a mystery why HARIMOTO is so fragile mentally.
Suddenly his serve and receives were higher, he's getting slower, its like he's applying a brake to his shots...

His level is dropping 50 WR suddenly... so its normal he's becoming like a sitting duck for JWJ.

Maybe he was also tired physically ? i don't know but surely he is lacking Mental strength

this game was a copy-paste from his match against MA Long

If there was an upset, then more often than not it would be a South Korean!

Not really. You don't need a counter game plan for that. If you've followed the scene long enough, you'd notice that South Korean players are among the streakiest, yet have produced many if not the most powerful upsets in memory. Many of them share one common trait - high risk, high reward all-out step-around. Notable players from other countries are Gatien at WTTC 1993, Schlager at WTTC 2003 and Aruna at World Cup 2014 and Rio Olympics. Fang Bo at WTTC 2015 is another. The catch here is the high demand on form and stamina. That's why you see these players deviate a lot. But when that condition is met, this tactical style is the most disruptive. Coupled with the intense pressure, it's very hard to deal with and recover from.

Now the problem is you can never be certain when it'll be coming ahead of time. In the same manner, the player who chooses to play like this will also find it hard to get started. Ito is the latest example.

Someone please forward this to Harimoto's dad.

The Art of Calling Timeout - Better "Right" than Late

There are no early timeouts but late timeouts. ZJK called it in G1 in the MS final against WH of London 2012. It doesn't always have to be saved for G7.

Seems Harimoto has these fast starts but really not composed in later stages of game, his 17 and few years will be more mature than younger players coming though but seems limited weapons be possesses down the stretch, whilst his opponent just kept composed last 3 games, complete breakdown but plenty to be proud of to date, SF at WC and last 3 matches gone distance including a bronze medal

There you have it. MLin calls it at 12:11 in G2!

Similar to a vaccine, TO has an efficacy rate as well. It never reaches 100%. It doesn't always work. Just like the flu virus that could mutate so much from year to year, the efficacy of a TO is always a guesswork, and could change/swing throughout a match depending on when it's called and the feasibility/execution of the advice given(dosage). Even a simple match-up/strength gap could completely nullify its effect.

Kato's strawberries making CM frustrated LOL

You gotta feel for the girl though. Even if she wins this match (which she probably will), continuously falling to the strawberries for five games is not going to look good on her, especially with LGL's comments about CM's issue with choppers still lingering in the background.
