Robopong only feeds when there are many balls in the feeder

Hi, I have a 38mm Robopong 2050 and I am waiting for my shipment of 38mm balls from Ebay, which will solve the issue.
In the meantime, the feeder only works if there is a ball in the basket feeder, (even if there are 10 balls or so in the spout that goes up) but if I lose two balls outside the net, I dont have enough balls for the feeder.

Does anyone know how to get the damn thing to work with the balls that are in the feeder?
(Point being that the machine won't spit out balls unless it is feeding balls from the scoop.)

That's how it works my dude... the head only has spinning wheels that spins the ball, which if you give it a ball they'll spit the ball out, but you need to give it a ball to spin with, i.e. if you don't feed more balls to it, it'll not throw balls at you. And look at how the ball gets fed to the head, the mechanism is at the bottom, it pushes the ball up to the head, the head doesn't "suck" the balls up.

Also, pretty sure you don't need 38mm balls with that robot, anything after the year 2000 should be able to do 40mm, and 40+ is a pretty minor change.

Ok weird. So the speed/frequency/osc/ mechanism says 2050 but the ball machine itself is 2000. So I guess no 40s?
