And what a waste of lovely babyoil !!!!!!
What you try to achieve could be done by slowly 4 - 5 times applying the oils sparingly/.
Looks to me your system could be even more radical by simply throwing the rubbers in the bin without even unpacking them. 😂
Nah, it works fine on esn rubbers and especially on chinese. I had the best results on hurricane 3. I guess the porous sponge is more prone to expansion and the gluing of the topsheet is pretty weak.

If you so serious about boosting, why you using baby oil then?
How long did you let it dry before adding your second layer and hefty - how much oil did you put?
enough to soak the whole sponge and let unglue the topsheet from the sponge?
I had bought it a while ago to see if boosting would suit me and I liked it. So I'm just using it until it runs out, would be a waste to throw it away... But I use a lot, I put a thin layer of glue and then I put oil until the entire sponge is uniform after spreading, would be 2 water bottle caps worth of oil. 2 days later I add another layer and then about 10 days after that I glue it on. Even after all that time it's still very curled, but I never had an issue with hurricane 3.

I always thought blue and pink are the same, but my pink one is 39 degrees as well, while my blue ones are 40.
It's listed that way, but my measurements of the two with my Shore O durometer came out to the same hardness (around 51d). Might be just variance and I got a harder sheet of pink than normal. My bet would be on them being the same though.

I have to assume that we are now not talking about R3 pink anymore because if we do we must have 2 different versions. My pinky has a white sponge that is pretty tense and not porous.
I probably got my signals crossed. I blame it on all the fumes from the baby oil :devilish:

Do your sheets have the same hardness printed on the sponge? Mine say 39 for pink and 40 for blue on the back, however I never noticed difference in hardness, so its quite weird.

Baby oil exerts no fumes, unless it's for superbabies😂

But the rxton 3 pink has a newer sponge that has small pores to add power, check it up close and compare it to a hurricane or battle

checking it up close reveals the white sponge being kinda grainy but not the usual holes of the more porous sponges as in many of the blue varietes

Ok, I just unpacked the Rxton 3 pink and the Rxton 5 Pro. I am very disappointed with the R5 Pro. The 3 pink is listed as 39d, and it feels firm. When I test it with the durometer, it seems like a legit 53d ESN.

The R5 Pro feels much softer when I push on it. When I test the durometer on it, it comes out to be 47-48d ESN. It's listed as 41d. What a total failure. How in the world is this "provincial" quality.

Are they domed the "right way" as in when we boost ???
I am asking because i remember the ALC was heavily domed the wrong way it looked like the sponge
had been shrinking after the top rubber had been glued on.

Overall it seems to be another disappointment from Loki ...............I really had enough.
We are supposed to be getting what we ordered not some Loki-wet dream.

Yes, they are domed the right way. They are slightly domed, curving towards the topsheet side. But that's probably because these sheets are relatively new fresh off the press. If you wait long enough, they will probably un-dome and curve slightly toward the sponge side.

I also took out the new Friendship Battle Max 40d to compare.

The Battle Max is very similar hardness to the Rxton 3 Pro, so actually maybe the Rxton 3 Pro is somewhat on target. But the Rxton 3 Pink, listed at 39d, is harder than both the Battle Max and R3 Pro.

A few more comparisons: my rxton 3 pink is about the same hardness as my 41d Loki Arthur China, maybe just slightly softer when I try it on the durometer. I earlier said 53ESN, but maybe I wasn't pushing hard enough.

Rxton 3 Pink is also harder than my boosted Dragon Grip by about 2 degrees.

I unpacked the R3 Pro. It also is slightly domed, but less than the R5 Pro. Pushing the sponge, it feels firmer than the R5 Pro, but less firm than the R3 Pink.

If the R3 pink is around 53 ESN, the R5 Pro is more like 51 ESN
Bit weird the R5 Pro feels softer than the R3 Pro, despite being listed a degree harder and it's sponge being marketed as "dense". You think it maybe due to the booster they applied in the factory?

I am at least happy that the R3 Pro is softer than the R3 Pink, might be just the hardness I am looking for, can't wait for mine to arrive tomorrow or Thursday.

Any idea on the tackiness of the R3/R5 Pro?

Just very small pores, enough to give a touch more power

I think that is way too much oil. A little bit is enough to cover the sponge. I'm guessing, you are maybe using 5 to 10 times the amount of oil required.

No matter what kind of oil, or proper booster, you never want the oil to penetrate and get to the topsheet (pips).
sounds like you just over did it, or over curled it.
Rxton III Pink, i've done 2 sheets and almost done a 3rd in a blue sheet.
very happy with the performances so far.

Oh... My bad then.

Can I measure how much I should put on? How much do you use for a normal Chinese rubber?
