Sealing blade and oiling blade's handle question

I saw a "ForSale" of a Defplay Inner Carbon FL blade, where the seller writes that he "oiled" the handle for protection, I suspect for protection from hand moisture.

What oil can be used for this? I usually seal the blade and the handle too but the handle becomes "slippery" with the sealer and wet hands. Does this also apply with oil in the handle?

I'm also interested in this question. I've had a blade with a lacquered handle, but the problem is that when my hand sweats, it becomes too slippery. Since I play LP on BH, "flipping" the blade becomes impossible (it slipped out a few times).

I tend to use Danish oil on the ones I've built which is most likely what this refers to although I guess it could be teak or linseed. Either way, an oil finish feels "natural" and shouldn't be overly slick unless they've used 2 tonnes of the stuff xD

I've used a (super thin!) layer of poly a couple of times and I believe some blade makers do this too but oil finishes feel nicer to me if I use a finish at all.

Boiled linseed oil works great for this, but it will take a few weeks to harden properly…
