Hey i love the serve of Zhang Jike (reverse backspin pendulum i guess). I want to do it but i am not able to do. I watched a couple of videos but they did not help me. What is the serve and how to perform it? Thank you..

Here, maybe these will help:

It is a pretty hard serve to get good at. You have to practice it a lot to get the contact really good and the wrist snap powerful.

Yes he is using reverse pendulum serve .. .and according to this video he is using backspin and side spins but i think he knows also no spin and top spin with it.

but what is interesting from this video is how shiny his rubber is ... do anybody now which type of rubber he is using ?

According to wiki, Butterfly Tenergy 05 (red) on his backhand, and DHS Hurricane 3 National blue sponge rubber (black) on his forehand .

Hey Carl, is the serve of Zhang Jike a reverse pendulum backspin serve?

He does every serve in the book. The reverse pendulum can be backspin, sidespin, topspin or dead. He does all of them. He also does regular pendulum serves and he does backspin, sidespin, topspin and dead with the pendulum serve as well. That serve is pretty useful to have in your repertoire. For a beginner it is hard to learn. But for an advanced player it should be a pretty basic skill and easy to get the hang of.

I think NOT using the fastest blade and rubber from Donic might help with learning this serve. But that's just me.
