Should I keep Telson China?

I'm thinking maybe I should keep it and test it out. I lined it up with my Sanwei CC, and it has the exact same thickness and carbon position as the Sanwei CC.

The CC is in many ways my best performing blade. It has incredible power, excellent grab and dwell time, and great maneuverability. The only thing that I don't like about the CC is that the feeling is a bit too mushy.

With the same dimensions as the CC, hopefully the Telson can perform just as well but with a better crisper feeling to it.

Keep it and test it yourself. Nothing beats your own feeling of the blade.

I have stopped listening to people's opinions about blades. Some people like their blades to vibrate, while some don't. Some people like their blade to feel "crispy" or whatever that means.

Some people memorize the wood compositions: carbon (ZLC, ALC, etc.), Kiri, Ayous, Limba, etc. etc. It is all confusing to me.

Just give me the blade and stick a hurricane on the forehand and soft ESN rubber on the backhand and I will tell you if I like it or not. End of story.

Wow i have the exact same feeling about the CC. For under 10$ it's unbeatable.

what a load of ""trara"" for what is for all intents an purpose just another cheapy blade. If you like it - keep it. If you don't, give it to a kid or do what i do, crack the handle off and use the blade as a coaster on the coffee table.

I just got this telson china from Loki hoping for a good long 5 clone.

But im a little disappointed. It seems slightly thicker than advertised. Like 6.1 or 6.2mm. also the carbon is closer to the edge, like Long 5X. And finally the fibre looks kinda weird. It doesnt that that distinct weaved pattern. But it seems blacker than other blades.

Should i keep it or keep looking for a closer match?

Why feeling disappointed when you already bought & received the blade? Give it a try, play it for a few weeks. Honestly, the finish of the blade looks quite good for its price.

Id place my money on TTGearLab.

They tryhard to stay neutral but you can see on their reviews about the rubbers and blades from their sponsor that they literally cant say anything bad.

They do focus a little bit on budget stuff, but not really that much. I mean they focus on ESN anyway. So yeah i do liked them in the past, but i guess im not their target group.

We are definitely not their target group It's very rare to see a player over here that uses Chinese rubbers. Maybe a handful that I encountered in the last 5 or so years but a lot more that use blades Made in China (many Andro blades even some of the expensive ones for example)

I glued up the Telson China, thinking it might be similar to the CC or the Atletico Power. But just from bouncing, it feels a lot like the Fang Bo B2X.

I'll test it out and see.

So I tested out the Telson China. I am kinda on the fence about it. It doesn't really stand out to me in any way. In terms of feeling and performance, my hunch was correct: it is basically a clone of DHS B2x. It has the same identical feeling and characteristics.

The flex is much lower than B2/HL5. It is a very sturdy blade. But the overall catchiness is pretty good, because the surface of the blade feels quite soft. So the ball seems to dwell on the surface of the blade, rather than in the flex of the core. It doesn't have the crisp snappy feeling of my Stuor Harimoto or the 75 inner, but the blade feels very soft and muted.

The speed is faster than B2/HL5. When I hit through the ball, I feel the blade penetrating harder than with the B2, which feels thinner and lighter.

I also thought that it might be similar to the Sanwei CC. Actually they are not close at all. The CC is more powerful and also much flexier.

Also the maneuverability of the Telson China is just average. The handle is not small, not big. I wish it was slightly thinner and longer. By being a short handle, it makes the blade a bit too head heavy and harder to maneuver. Also the handle is only average in terms of being able to twist in your hand. I feel the B2 and CC have better handling.

How did it come you replace your Stuor Harimoto by this blade ? Reading your last review, I would have never imagined that you switch your blade.

Have you measured the blade's frequency? How does it compare to Pro 05 or to your Lemuria Long 5?

I believe it was on the higher side, which makes sense that it would be stiff. Maybe it was 1450 or so.

But my Sanwei 75 inner is also 1450 and feels excellent. So frequency doesn't always tell the story.

My Pro 05 was low, maybe 1340, but it felt terrible.
