not sure what grip to use for jpen RPB any tips about what to do with fingers at back?
Thanksi have seen both
i guess what makes you comfortable
Rpb is the better shot these days and I would say jpen is more comfortable than cpen so seems right to domaybe a question is if you want rpb or focus on tpb
Do you have a hybrid bat that allows for rpb? Traditional jpen blades don't work for rpb, right?Rpb is the better shot these days and I would say jpen is more comfortable than cpen so seems right to do
Yes you can find quite a few different blades that allow jpen and rpb but yes most jpen blades are one rubberDo you have a hybrid bat that allows for rpb? Traditional jpen blades don't work for rpb, right?
its actually a lot common know for Jpen blades to support 2 rubbersDo you have a hybrid bat that allows for rpb? Traditional jpen blades don't work for rpb, right?
Yeah I have seen those hybrid blades with a round head and cork handle. I used to play with a cork mounted to a cpen too, wasn't bad.its actually a lot common know for Jpen blades to support 2 rubbers
you also have those Jpen head, but Cpen like body for 2 rubbers
I even saw Jpen + cybershape
I guess, anything is possible
you mean 1 sided jpen with round head?Yeah I have seen those hybrid blades with a round head and cork handle. I used to play with a cork mounted to a cpen too, wasn't bad.
Does this work with classic jpen shape too?
sadly jpen is dying in asiaTo me playing jpen now is almost like driving a vintage car or fishing a bamboo fly rod. You can have solid performance (up to like 2000 level every style can win if it is well enough executed) but it is more for the enjoyment rather than maximum performance.
I also have a jpen blade and love hitting forehands with it but usually play with my cpen because I enjoy rpb a lot.
They should have penholder only events at tournaments here in the USA like they do with Hardbat. That would be fun!you mean 1 sided jpen with round head?
i have seen them before, way before rpb came out.

cpen is dying too, jpen is just closer.
Its only the older players (previous generations) that still use it.
20 years and younger today, hardly any....

Agree. You can do either curled fingers or straight fingers. But in the course of developing your forehand and backhand, the fingers in the back can move between straight or curled or maybe even hybrid of both. Everyone plays differently.use whatever grip that is comfortable to you in the moment
i myself dont have a "fixed" grip per say, sometimes my fingers are curled, sometimes they're a bit straight, sometimes i hold the blade deeper and sometimes more shallow
even ryu seung-min mentioned that his grip is slightly differrent each time he holds it in a video, its just part of penhold
